Meet Greta! A young lady living in the Imperial Colonies, somewhat close to the Spill. There's some crazy stuff out there! Angry trees, lustful berries etc.

I am pretty close to being done with my "magic and corruption" lore post. Here's a quote appropriate for this image:

"Mana" is a synonym for magical energy. Almost everything in the world generates mana of differing afiinities.
All mana has a "flavour" or "affinity" that decides it's nature and what's it's best used for. To put it simply fire mana is best for burning things down and life is best for healing or creating life. Affinity greatly influences how corruption changes the affected creature.
Affinities can be roughly broken down into two large categories:
Elemental: fire, water, lightning, life, wind etc. mostly found in nature
Emotional: anger, joy, lust, pride etc. mostly derived from the gods and sentient beings.
You could try to use Joy mana to burn something down but it would be extremely inefficient and difficult to archive.
Uncorrupted humans and animals generate neutral mana. Strong emotions can generate small amounts of emotional mana, but not enough to corrupt.

Yes. In the world of GrimLewd you can get so horny that you generate mana.

Don't know what this is about? Check out the GrimLewd setting overview post

Greta is very cute and I'm sure she would make a fine witch. Mana flavours are neat, normally they're pretty rigidly set into elemental kinds but there seems to be more leeway. She is kind of right in asking what a plant could be angry about but I guess you never know! This also leads me to believe that large-scale events can be perfect opportunities to harness the ambient mana they generate. Lustful mana caused by orgies is the most obvious example. It also leads to some interesting cases where it's quite a bit difficult to generate certain types; it's a lot harder for people to get really happy than, say really angry or really sad.

Nothing weird will happen when she finds the lust filled plant! Everything will be completely normal and fine! Yep... Definitely safe. Yuuuup... 😂

Wait a minute. A few years ago, you posted two pages: one was about a couple of farmers digging up some weird parasite out of their soil and chasing it away, while the other was about a parent and their child watching a vat of dudes get mutated. Would those pages belong in this setting?

What could possibly go "wrong"?

Especially considering that InCase preemptively mentioned in a prev post that there are LOTS and LOTS of tentacles to be found in this world. 🤣

New favorite character design!

Also, ‘flavors of mana’ sounds like a great title for something. Not sure what but it’s got a ring to it.

I agree, the wording allows for greater versatility to the magic system. Also, plants have plenty to be angry about. Lack sunshine because of the trees above them, animals eating them, some random witch apprentice coming around and ripping them out of the ground. Plants can have tough life. Now what if they turn sentient?

I have a vision of a violence infused plant becoming a pet style sub-character.

Fire mana + Joy mana = "Disaster girl" meme

I am very interesting in this horny magic. I look forward to exploring it further. XD

Wild Bill

She looks great, I love her outfit.

I'd like to thank everyone for not picking the low-hanging joke about "since she's a herbalist, what are the odds of her growing or finding magical weed?" But the idea of objects charged by emotional mana is interesting. Reminded of the Emotion Knight class from the DIE rpg.
