I revisited that echidna from earlier, and something terrible now appears to be happening to it.

I think it's pretty clear now that all this echidna stuff is expanding into some sort of bigger project. The nature of the project is still vague- I have a bunch of ideas that seem conceptually and aesthetically connected, but I haven't actually sat down to gather my thoughts and work out how to put all the ideas together. But! I don't need to do that in order to know that I'd like there to be some echidnas so I might as well draw them.

I think it's helpful early in a project to just make the scenes that I would like to see, before I've worked out the context for them. If I waited until I'd come up with a cohesive idea, I run the risk of saying something boring and sensible like "this scene doesn't actually fit anymore so I'll take it out".

Screw being sensible, let’s get whimsical. Also I burst out laughing at this echidna he looks a lot goofier and cool with his blobbies.

I love the eyes scanning back and forth. Looking for pop tarts and ice cream.
