going around in rectangles (Patreon)

Hello hello and THANK YOU for your support this fine July. I hope you had a good solstice, be it winter or summer! Here we celebrate by doing our taxes and it's cold, and that's about it.

I'm pleased to report that thanks to your support, I've completed the first... chapter? act?? of the film I'm making!
There is no predetermined structure to this film so I don't know if it's going to have 3, or 5, or 100 acts (obviously not that one I would die), but if this was a movie with acts I'd definitely be on "ACT II" now.

I know that this is always how it works making a film, that it doesn't exist, then it partially exists, then it entirely exists, but it feels very exciting to have something substantial! So thank you!!! YOU did that and I'm so grateful that I get to keep working on this project!!!!!!!!

Anyway, this month's paper animation SPINS! It's something I've wanted to try for a while, but I kept getting caught up on the logistics and would do something else instead.

As always, the frames are also the drawings I'm sending out to Pen Pals this month. Apologies if you're a Pen Pal who has been hanging your received drawings up on a wall- this month your frame might be in landscape, or even diagonal! This one is meant to be topsy turvy though so I give you permission to hang it up in portrait. (But you can try hanging it diagonally if you like!) Anyway I'll be sending them off today.
