Howdy, wonderful people!

I had one of these sitting nearby when I woke up this morning, and it took me a few sleepy moments to remember that this was printed and that I couldn't eat it.  That's right, more questionable food choices in printed form!

These cookies are technically containers, but they don't have a huge amount of interior volume - around 40mm across and 5mm in height.  But they do look like jam and cream cookies, so take that, larger containers! :D

All the parts screw together.  The jam screws into the cookie part (not that there's a lot to grab onto with the jam, but once it's in, you won't need to take it out again), and the cookies thread onto the cream bit.

So, for each cookie you'll need:

* 2 x cookie parts

* 2 x jam parts

* 1 x cream part

Print Description

This is a regular mode print, and the tolerances are relatively generous for the bits that join together.  Screw connections are good like that, and can accommodate for slightly different fits.

Print Dimensions

The cookie part is 50mm x 50mm on the print bed and 7mm tall.

Supports Needed?

Not at all!  Designed for straightforward printing!

Scalability

The main issue you'll have with scaling is the fit of the threads, which will get tighter as things scale down, and looser as they scale up.

Print Orientation

The cookie parts print flat-side down, the jam prints thread-side down, and the cream part is symmetrical and can print either way up!

Further Thoughts

It's always fun to work out what the key elements are that make something identifiable.  For these little jam and cream cookies I agonised over the curve of the edge and the proportions of the jam and cookie, but ultimately I suspect that we're just hardwired to recognise delicious treats :)

Happy printing!

xoxo

Sven.

…pretty sure this jammy dodger is a Tardis self destruct button in disguise! Actually, I have only had them the one time I ordered them from the UK, and don’t know about the cream bit- but that’s what these made me think of. I am taking the Tardis vase mode print as Dr Who fan evidence.
