Yes, it's that time of year again when we all celebrate vase mode printing!  Merry vase-mas!  Okay, okay, so here we have a Christmas tree (or a tree for any other festive/non-festive tree-oriented occasion) that is intended to also celebrate the wonder of hexagons!

This stylised tree is made of twisted panels dotted with a hexagonal pattern and all the angles in those little hexagons are set up with angles that are friendly to vase mode printing.  So, the whole thing can be printed nicely in vase mode.  Of course, it can be printed in regular mode with infill, too, if you want more robust trees.

Filament: ProtoPasta Forest Fantasy PLA

Print Description

If you're printing this in vase mode, set your slicer accordingly!

Print Dimensions

By default, the Hexmas Tree occupies 117mm x 110mm on the printer bed, and is 120mm tall.

Supports Needed?

Not at all!  Designed for straightforward printing!

Scalability

The Hexmas Tree will scale easily up or down!

Print Orientation

As you might expect, the Hexmas Tree prints right-way-up:

Further Thoughts

Vase mode works well for last minute festive things, which is why the vase mode baubles happened last year!  Or was that the year before?! Time flies :D

Merry Hexmas!

Printed on MK3s+ & Mini & Voxelab Aries all at defaults in vase mode. Perfect no issues whatsoever. Tried many 2 color & 3 color silk filaments. Nicest so far is Mattrhackers Quantum green/white silk. Parts of tree look like they are covered in snow.

PrusaSlicer is telling me there is an empty layer between 59.4 and 59.8 on the Mini Hexmas. Same on the larger one, different layer though...
