Okay, this is the last post for today!  But it has a couple of things in it that follow a theme: gigantic nozzles!

I've worked with 1.0mm nozzles in the past, but my mind was blown when I saw that there was a 1.8mm nozzle available that worked with regular 1.75mm filament!  Specifically one by Bondtech, and since there was a sale on I bought a set of varying sizes.  Have I used them all?  Nope, straight to the big one!

Below are a couple of models that are relevant to these big nozzles!

Oh, and big thanks to the great people at FilamentStories.com for their slicer settings and expertise that let me hit the ground running with this nozzle! :D

Linen Vase

Texture is the name of the game here!  Sweeping curves and plenty of nice vertical surfaces to show off the glorious texture that comes with really big layer lines.

You can of course print this one with a more conventional nozzle!  However, vases that I design for thinner extrusion tend to include design features to improve rigidity and robustness, and this vase has none of that!  It's specifically intended for gloriously-wide extrusion!

Print Dimensions

The Linen Vase occupies 70mm x 70mm on the print bed and is 100mm tall.

Big Vase Jigsaw Crate

This one's a functional design - storage trays that connect together.  These deep, jigsaw-style trays connect firmly thanks to the friction that those chunky layer lines impart.

One note on this - you'll want to make sure your slicer respects the outer profile of the shape!  The clearances in the connectors are designed with that in mind.  I printed a quick 50mm cube first and checked it with calipers to make sure it really was 50mm still as a vase mode print.

Print Dimensions

The model occupies 180mm x 180mm on the print bed and is 100mm tall.

I printed mine on a Prusa Mini and had to scale it down to 179.99mm to keep the slicer checks happy, and it worked just fine :)

Bondtech CHT Nozzle Set Case

I liked the packaging for the nozzle set - a cardboard box with the nozzles seated in foam.  So I designed a case to hold those bits of foam.  And the nozzles, I guess.  It also has spots for magnets to snap the case firmly closed!  The outside of the case is full of hexagonal holes to show off the nice grey foam.

Now, this is of course ultimately just a case that holds two 70mm x 100mm x 10mm pieces of foam, so that might possibly be useful for other purposes, too :)

Print Dimensions

The model occupies 181mm x 113mm on the print bed and is 25mm tall.

Someone please explain to me how you can get a 1.8mm nozzle working with 1,75mm, i want to know that now! I use 2,85mm so this is kina weird, but i like to collect knowledge :-)

Any advice for what to look at when setting up a CHT nozzle? I've got the 0.6 and while I have adjusted the max volumetric speed I was wondering if there is anything else I should consider.

Thank you! Is there any place to find 1.8 nozzle slicer settings online for prusa? From filament stories or elsewhere? Just got these nozzles but unsure what all to configure.
