Some days you just get inspired by filament.  Right?!  I'm sure it's not just me!  Anyway, I had ordered two shades of matte brown filament a while back, and they really did have a rustic, homely feel when they sat next to each other, so I figured I had to do something to combine them.

Hence the Rustic Bowl!  It's a two-colour model printed in two pieces that slot together, forming a bowl with a kind of woven look to it.  The inside is visible through the holes in the outer, and vice versa.

Printing Tips

Nothing tricky here - all the angles are friendly and all those grooves and cutouts should be nice and easy to print.  The fit between the inner and outer is fairly generous and should be fairly resilient in the face of printing variations.

Both parts print base-down, like so:

Print Dimensions

The Rustic Bowl outer occupies 140mm x 140mm on the print bed and is 81mm tall.

Further Thoughts

I have a fascination with giving the impression of things using as little detail as possible, and this is an example of that.  Though, it's a little ambiguous.  Are those diagonals and diamonds conveying a pie crust feel or a woven sensibility?  Both?  As long as it strikes a homely vibe, I'm happy.

Made it using Polyterra Peanut color PLA and Inland dark brown PLA+. It does look great together.

Really wish we could share pictures on patreon what a great design. Printed very clean, used a multicolor PLA for the outer shell and a neutral color for the inner. I even printed it on two different machines and it fit together seamlessly.
