Hey there wonderful people!

Why have labels when we can have... dots!  This square take on the flasks includes a matrix of inset squares just waiting for tiny pixels to be pressed into them.  Arrange little squares to make whatever your heart desires, as long as it can be expressed in a 5x9 grid.  At the default size, the squares really are quite tiny, so you might want to get your tweezers ready :D

There are two different  sizes of flask, single and double, but they both have the same grid of pixel holes on one face.

The lid is the same once again as the other flasks, but the box is a little more complex for the sake of printability.  The interior 'ceiling' is not horizontal but made up of converging 45 degree planes through which the thread pattern punches.

You can see this most clearly on the double-width box where the ceiling profile cuts into the thread.  Or does the thread cut into the ceiling profile?  I guess it depends on your perspective :)

Oh, by the way, this flask is sized very similarly to the Micro Flask - here's a picture for reference:

Printing Tips

Both the lid and the box body are designed for straightforward printing, and print right-way-up.  Neither should cause you any grief.  The grid on the box body does have tiny overhangs, but they shouldn't cause any problems either.  An early version of this design had a 45 degree ceiling on those little squares, but you wouldn't believe how painful it made getting the little squares (which weren't squares at that point) to stay put.

That brings us to the squares!  You'll probably want to use a raft for those - they are tiny and prone to coming off the bed.  However, they're also very quick to print.  I would test the fit of the squares into the body, and if necessary adjust the pixel model in your slicer so that it fits the way you like it.

And of course you can just glue them in anyway :)

You'll find this on Dropbox under Pixel Flask!

Final Words

If you're thinking "oh good, a rectangular version of the flask, shame it has all those dots", then don't worry, I'll be posting a pixel-free edition of this model tomorrow :)

Have fun!

xoxo

Sven.
