Howdy, wonderful people!

Somewhere between the endless hinges of the Articulator Dish and Slideback Box and the more sedate forms of the single-hinged boxes is this one - a three-part hinged lid.  The hinges aren't arbitrary, though, they correspond to a hexagonal side profile, and let the lid wrap around the upper half of the hexagonal box.

The hinges all seat firmly into indents in the box sides, and the final edge snaps lightly into place when the whole thing is closed.  I wouldn't go so far as to say that it is designed to stay firmly closed, but the closure does have a certain positivity to it :)

There's no reason, of course, that the box couldn't be a completely unrolled thing, but that would make it somewhat less useful as a container.  So, half the panels it is, not all of them :)

This one was actually designed back in the early part of this month, which seems like an eternity ago now, but I hadn't actually test printed it until now!  I'd been putting all my printing efforts towards things like the vault box.  It's fun seeing a design that I didn't just finish come to life :D

This one's on Dropbox as usual under Unfolder Hex Box!

Have fun :)

xoxo
