I added both their eyes and made an attempt to start Twilight's hair and tail. I may try to experiment with alpha cards or something for the final model, but having forms like this just to figure out how these shapes will work in 3d is helpful.

Also there's a breakdown of their eyes. With nonspherical eyes I use a curved surface for the eyewhite that an actual eye/iris/pupil shape will slide around on the surface of (in Maya eyes like this can be rigged using a geometry constraint, a normal constraint, and a shrinkwrap deformer). I usually stack fake highlights on top of that just because painting highlights on would obviously prevent their position from being changed. For very stylized "flat" characters with non-spherical eyes like this I find it easier to make eyes this way.
