2.0 Release and Paradise Completion (Patreon)

Hello Everyone!

It's been a wild ride this year as we entered the closing days of Paradise! Our latest patch is out and being enjoyed by our backers, and will be available to everyone one week from today. However, we have some updates that we're now ready to share.

After a great deal of contemplation, we have decided that this patch represents the complete Paradise Inc experience. After 5 years of development and over a million words, the project has grown from a tiny proof of concept on Cambion's personal computer to a labor of love for both of us, one that tells a full story and introduces characters and plot threads that we're immensely proud of. As such, we'll be renumbering this update to signify its change in status, and will be releasing it as Paradise 2.0!

This does mean we will not be offering solo romantic quests for Bull Damien, Vampire Xavier, or Masked Jolie. We apologize to anyone who was anticipating those storylines, but we are anxious to apply our new skills to future projects and we didn't feel the appeal was wide enough to delay whatever we decide to do next. All three of these characters retain all of their current content, but it has been tweaked slightly to make it clear that the MC is not an option for them (they also give much stronger hints as to which other employee would suit them). For anyone disappointed by this news who feels they didn't get what they hoped when they backed, please feel free to reach out to us.

So, what's the plan for the rest of the year? We will be keeping the Patreon on until December, but have no further plans for major updates. In December, we will pause the Patreon, stopping all payments, until we have a new game we're ready to give details on. We'll continue to do bug fixes as they come up, the Discord server will remain active, and we'll evaluate a Steam Release (Steam does have a deposit to release a game, and we're not sure we would make enough to outweigh it. NSFW games are fairly niche on Steam). That should mean, other than small adjustments, Paradise should be essentially complete as of now.

Beyond that? Luciana and Cambion will be taking some time to unwind, recover our strength, and evaluate our options. There's a lot of new systems out there that appeal to us, and we're going to take the time to figure out what the next project should be. Once we've made that decision, it will be a while until we're ready to show it off. Keep an eye on this space and, of course, in our Discord if you want to be the first to hear about it.

Once again, we're both so extremely grateful for the number of people who played and loved Paradise Inc. Many of our backers have been here since the very beginning, taking the long journey right from the start. Without you, there's no doubt the project would simply have ended somewhere after Lazren's first visit, unfinished and unsung. You gave us the opportunity to tell the full story, and we have every intention of continuing to create new worlds and stories for years to come.
