VINTAGE CON SKETCHES: More ladies from the summer of 2000! (Patreon)

Here are s'more Vintage Con Sketches from the summer con season of 2000, once again scanned from old photocopies of originals drawn on linen-finish cardstock, hence the fabric pattern on the background pencil tones.

A few words:

Yet another Alita/Gally/etc., this time from whatever the hell that rollerball-ish mechanized sport was called in the original Gunmm series.

Yeahp, a fairly uninspired genderswap version of DC's character Deadman. Ehh, could've been worse.

That's Akemi from David Mack's series Kabuki... or was she from the Kabuki: Scarab miniseries that Rick Mays drew? Don't remember. Would that I could remember what in hell I thought I was doing with the pinkie on her left hand, which appears bizarrely and inexplicably truncated.

And yeahp, this piece is almost certainly photoreffed from pics of my friend Tomoko's (in)famously photogenic leather jacket, which I have drawn so, so many times. (Click the hashtag below for "THAT leather jacket" to see more examples.)

Holy mackerel did I ever bungle Akemi's figure proportions in this piece; when "eyeballing" goes tragically wrong, apparently. Or maybe this was an attempt at a "fisheye lens" effect that did not work out well.
