2018 MANGA MADNESS brackets, pt.4! (Patreon)

Following up on an earlier post, here are the results from the next round of competition in a set of "March Manga Madness" brackets I worked up back in 2018:

(BTW, the correct title of the #15 seed at lower right is To Your Eternity, of course. Whoops!)

A few words on the manga involved in the latest set of brackets:

*Sonoda's Gunsmith Cats was definitely a big effing deal for me, and for a while in the 90s was My Very Favoritest Manga; but Akira was probably the most important early influence on my manga-ish stylings, so it gets the W.

*Fujihiko Hosono's romantic comedy Mama could basically be described as "Maison Ikkoku if Kyoko were an unmarried mother," but veers off in some really interesting narrative directions. If I get a chance, someday I'll talk about this fascinating series in mo' detail.

*I discussed Sun-Ken Rock's excellent visual approach to depicting fancy mens' suits a few years back on the sadly dormant Comics Riffs I Love feature. Check it out! 

*As much as I do enjoy the vastly more acclaimed 20th Century Boys, I enjoy Coppelion just as much, and the latter series taught me some key lessons about long-form storytelling, which I likewise hope to address in mo' detail down the road on this very Patreon.
