EMPOWERED vol.12 finale sneak peek, plus D&D-character Xmas card! (Patreon)
Content
My buffer of scheduled posts is nonexistent at the moment, so here's a hasty fill-in post, kind Patrons!
First up is a provocative yet not entirely SPOILER-y image from Empowered vol.12's climactic story, now underway as I grind through my final two months on the long-gestating volume:
An earlier Empowered vol.12 preview showed the Uncaged Demonwolf (sorry, no time to scroll back through my archive to find said post), hence my "not-too-SPOILER-y" reasoning. You're prolly not gonna see much more of this climactic chapter, though.
Next up is a improvised Christmas card I gussied up for my sister, based on (I think) some sort of graduation-themed card:
...which I spotted whilst checking out at Target, and realized I could use as the basis for an illo featuring my sister's half-orc paladin character from the on-and-off D&D campaign I'm DMing:
At left is a Neo-Otyugh beastie I subbed in for a dragon at the climactic encounter of the Forge of Fury D&D module; I did so because the adventuring party had already slain a (titular) dragon at the end of The Dragon of Icespire Peak module, so screw that.
The idea with the Neo-Otyugh was that the critter was telepathically projecting an image of a royal damsel in distress to lure in hapless adventurers to prey on; the joke, here, was that over time the monster had become fixated on its self-perception of actually being a pretty, pretty princess. (Y'know, I might actually use this riff in a future fantasy-based comic.)
Anyhoo, like many other things in my life, the D&D campaign is on hold until Empowered vol. 12 is finally wrapped up. Speaking of which, time to wrap up this post and get to work on today's Emp page!
NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: No idea, TBH, as the buffer's currently empty! (Well, stand by for something on Wednesday, folks.)
