For this week's DiD content, I thought I'd sketch up a few pages of roughs from a Hushed Half-Elf episode I was considering, in which our hapless heroine visits a potion shop, only to find herself seized by the gnomish proprietors when they fall prey to her magically attractive "body of a bondage-prone Goddess" curse.

I'd planned to do said roughs in analog pencil, to see if that would trigger my drawing-hand pains; not really, it turns out, but then again, roughs aren't all that stressful on my arm, as opposed to finished penciling (which is very stressful indeed, it seems).

Goofily enough, I immediately ran into trouble with the first two pages of roughs, due to poor compositional choices on my first-draft scrawls which couldn't be fixed without erasing and redrawing the g-d things.  So, I took photos of both pages with my tablet, opened 'em up in Procreate, and rejiggered the layouts until I had room for the dialogue I wanted, which I then computer-lettered as well.  Yeahp, roughs and thumbnails are vastly easier to correct and tweak digitally than on paper; go figure! (The original, analog roughs for the first two pages are posted at the end of the image gallery.)

BTW, I've decided that, for cheesecake convenience, part of the Half-Elf's distress-attracting magical curse is that she literally can't keep her clothes on.  Any article of clothing she tries to wear over her, ahem, "scanties" (that is, underwear) magically gives way in a struggle, either loosening, unbuttoning, tearing or just plain falling off her.  So, in the as-yet-unseen run-up to this scene,  the Elf's gnome captors weren't even trying to strip her; the probability-warping Curse of the Chained Goddess caused her tunic and breeches to slip off while she was writhing and wriggling.  Whoops!

Poor Hushed Lass! But she wears it well.

Love it! And the idea of her clothes being unable to remain on her? GENIUS.

Gorgeous, just gorgeous. Love the story and the style, especially the shading and tone of the second (rejiggered) page.

Some really fun designs and great expressiveness in this sequence. It's fun seeing the pin-ups extend into a bit of world-building and some comedic guest-stars to tell the tale!
