Akk!  Thunderstorm approaching, so I gotta post this sucker in a hurry before I have to unplug the ol' PC!  (Too bad I only have a few old pages scanned and ready to upload...)

Quick word of explanation: One of my regular DiD commissioners (during my darker days of little to no comics income) was cool with me doing somewhat random sets of sketch sets like the ones above, which were incredibly fast and easy for me to crank out during breaks in my "day job" work, as opposed to (vastly) more time- and attention-consuming pin-up illos or full-on comic pages.  You'll be seeing many more of these in DiD Wednesdays to come, I can tell you, as I piled up a rather alarming number between formal comic pages over the years.

Not sure how old these sets are; maybe a decade ago or so.  Interesting, though, to see the relatively "big head Emp" figure proportions I was using, in contrast to the very different proportions I'm using for her in current-day stories.

Poses from sets like these were often repurposed for actual, published Empowered pages, such as the vol. 6 title page below:

Note that, in the second sketch set above, the main Emp figure sports a straitjacket not unlike the more stylized one that Kei was strapped into in 1993's Dirty Pair: Sim Hell #3, which I happen to have a scanned page from handy:

Dug up the original design for Kei's straitjacket t'other day, but haven't scanned it yet.  Whoops!

Crap! That last thunderclap was getting pretty close; I'd best wrap this up and shut the ol' PC down. Later, folks!

So cool to see these sketches and more to come in the future! One request seeing Emp with an actual ball gag is like a 1 in 100 phenomenon with your amazing DID sketches :(. Is it possible to see more? I really appreciate your work and as with humility and respect

Super-cool to see that the developmental / side doodles can still add so much value to the series. Emp in that cozy straitjacket from the old DP days is a fun call-out to people who have been following your work for years too! :D

Love these kind of sketch pages and double awesome when you can use parts in published work!
