Following up on earlier previews from my first bunch of pages drawn for Empowered vol.12 (here's the first page; then pages #2-3; then pp.4-5), here's another one, this time featuring a semi-Meta Emp expressing concerns about yet another peril of getting chloroformed.

And now, time for the roughs! First pass on the top tier of panels:

That first Emp figure and left-arm pose felt a bit off (and her face was kinda blah), so I drew a marginally different second pass:

And the next few panels; note that the dialogue is generally scribbled onto the rough as an integral piece of the artwork.

Tried multiple roughs for the next panel, as you can see:

And, oops, looks like I accidentally threw away the rough for the last panel! (Oh, well.) Ah, but I do have a scan of my hand-scrawled first-draft dialogue:

In fact, there's one more missing work stage, one that I never bother to save; that would be the tracing paper on which I "pre-letter" my dialogue, to make sure it fits in the space available in the final panel. If possible, I'll scan one of those sheets for a future page, even though that's a work stage that few would ever encounter in their own comics work.

Really dig the second pass on Emp's hand and expression. Also love her face expression when she's taking about the supersuit in the fifth panel.

I feel like your art is getting better and better!

Semi-Meta Emp? I wonder who she might be talking to...

Godsdammit, stop showing me roughs I want! XD But seriously, amazing how much difference changing Emp's hand and expression makes on the page.

That face and pose on the next to last panel really sells the ickiness.
