Ultear's sacrifice is kind of heartbreaking in 2 respects. The first is as you said - she gave up her life and never knew the extent to which that single minute helped. Secondly, remember in the Deliora arc? Natsu was able to easily destroy the demon bc Ur had been sapping it's life for years. If Ur hadn't done that or cast the Iced Shell in the first place (or heck, even pulled Gray out of the rubble after Deliora attacked his hometown), Gray certainly would have died. Ur saved him not once but three times and now her daughter has saved him as well. The fact that both his mentor and his mentor's daughter gave up their lives for him - that's heavy.

The way Hiro Mashima handled this was beautiful IMO. He allowed us to experience the deaths of characters we love; Gray, Lucy, Laxus, Gajeel even Macao and Droy too I guess... he allowed us to experience their deaths but managed to save them. But it was still not without consequences; he still made it so that there was loss. It was not the case for you but for a lot of us, we cared about Ultear. Not as much as say Gray and Lucy and Laxus sure but... we still cared about her. Her life was miserable; she only fell into darkness because she wanted to go back in time to try and experience happinness for herself. So her giving up her life to preserve the happinness of others? Has a true sense of ironic sadness to it

As always waking up to more Fairy Tail is the best, glad your starting to feel a little better. And 1 episode a day is perfectly fine, your plan to have a stockpile in case you can't post for a bit. Is a great plan, can't wait to see the end of this season and start the next one. I think I asked this before, but I think it was before Fairy Tail went on hiatus. If not I apologizes, but do you still plan on doing the movies. You don't really need to watch them during the show as they don't really effect it. However they are really good, like they kind of push the boundary of Fairy Tail. I don't want to say much, because I want to see your genuine reaction to it. But I think you and everyone here would really enjoy seeing them.
