Password: one piece is a masterpiece

Rikin Patel

Ahhh was waiting for this! Episode 309 is my favourite One Piece episode :)

Anonymous

I love the development in passwords from the last one to this one

CeCactus13

I'd say OP is not a masterpiece, but a One Piece.

TheGofenex

bruh! Ruff, Believe me you will LOVE Dressrosa, it's hype, just more dragging at some stupid points, but that's not really a major downside

Marc-Antoine Michaud

Don't worry about Dressrosa. It's one of the best arcs in One Piece. It's just very long. The next arc is the one I always struggle with.

Isaac Park

Nah dressrosa is one of my favorite arcs. Ppl say its bad since its very long and the pacing is the worst in that arc but trust me when I say this, the amount of fire and hype moments in that arc makes up for the bad pacing. Dressrosa is a goated arc and its WAY better than Skypiea by a long shot trust me. It is better than alabasta and i would even say close to enies lobby level of good

Anonymous

dressrosa is far from the worst arc in one piece, i can understand not liking it if you watch it episode per week like people did when it came out... the arc is complete now, it shouldnt be a problem for someone like you who can always watch the next episode, ill admit it is pretty slow tho(it was slow in the manga too so i dont see how thats an "anime" problem). overall i think you will enjoy it

Kay M

Dressrosa is currently the longest arc to date since it’s over 100 episodes long but regardless of how much the pacing drags it is honestly one of the best arcs of the series. The hype never goes down in that arc you are gonna love it for sure

Anonymous

I personally didn't like dressrosa but it wasn't bad. It just was too long and had really bad pacing. However I've heard binging it is more enjoyable so who knows. I'd also say the two arcs before dressrosa are worse. But don't worry after dressrosa it really picks up. The current arc is arguably gonna be the best arc in one piece.

Isaac Park

you mean thriller bark? that arc started off slow but the last half of it is so fucking good

ruffsenpai

It’s uploaded, I forgot to add it to the playlist. It’s added now!

Rikin Patel

Dressrosa binged is actually pretty good! But it still suffers from pacing issues the most in the middle. A lot of manga readers were burnt out since they had to wait a week per chapter (the arc was 100 chapters btw) so that’s where a lot of the hate comes from. It still has some REALLY hype moments and builds the world and characters well.

Gilmez

Dressrosa isn’t even a bad arc, people just complain about it for being too long, but it’s s loaded arc with big things happening.

Luis CK

Lucci is black ops :p

Anonymous

People hate on long arcs don’t even have the first clue on how to write a story as well as OP or AOT. Dressrosa has great moments and backstories!

KaitouLuminous

I cannot wait for ruffs reaction to 313&314

Gilmez

For the cover stories, you’ll either have to buy the physical manga volumes like the box set or view them in the Jump App.

KaitouLuminous

you can actually find them on youtube on a slideshow like fashion even in color

Icy

I don't we should mention Dressrosa yet it will be awhile for him, but it is a fantastic arc. Also the Rust Rust fruit never affected a person in the manga that was added filler that we don't know if it could work or not.

Gilmez

There’s a side story involving Sanji in his days at the Baratie. It’s done by the mangaka of Shokugeki no Soma. There’s also a chapter that was redone by Bocchi (Dr. Stone), it’s the Zoro vs Mihawk fight. There’s also an Ace side story that has a Light Novel and Manga, but you’re still too far behind to read it.

Rowny Rena

Hey Ruff! FIRE REACTION as always, anyway, you wanted to recommend something like side story manga of one piece? Well, this isn't really from Oda but it's short, fun read - Shokugeki no Sanji. It's a sanji spin-off from the author of food wars and it's based on it (few ecchi scenes, humor and the delicious food, dramatic cooking) I think it has 3 chapters now and it doesn't spoil anything (Btw I read it on mangago, so go there if you can't find it anywhere else) . I just though you might want to check it out 'cause it's funny. And on the note of Dressrosa, yes the anime kinda butchered it, but it's an amazing arc, one of the best and in manga it's flawless, so even if the anime wouldn't do it for u, then manga will always do and that includes every arc. So ye, if u find yourself getting bored then you can always switch to the manga that never gets boring. Anyway, that is in a far future so enjoy the hell out of one piece as much as u want and don't let the op haters get u. (I know u won't 😉🔥😤)

Anonymous

I think most people hate Dressrosa is because not only is it dragged out like crazy but the anime's animation for that entire arc is the absolute worst in the entire series.

F. Carasind

On the canon side are two novels about Ace's adventures before he met Luffy again that you sadly can't read yet. It is currently adapted as a manga by Boichi (Dr. Stone). There are plenty other spin-offs and crossovers that don't fit into the "real" story. If you want to see Goku meet Luffy – no problem, even in the anime.

Kevin

well I could give you animes where protag kun dies and good guys still win but isn't that a spoiler already? one where the protag dies and the enemies win doesn't come to mind right now All these marines don't deserve the rank of captain compared to smoker. At this point in the story he would wipe the whole crew incl luffy due to his logia type fruit. With regard to people complaining about pacing you have to keep in mind that a good part of them had to watch episodes weekly back in the days. For you it might be better since you can watch 5 episodes in a row

Zerozaki

That is one long password

F. Carasind

Dressrosa in the manga is simply a long arc and only felt slow because of weekly reading. The anime adds it own pacing problems to this. It doesn't get as creative as now with often enjoyable additional scenes but stretches the run time with bad filler content. In this case it shows if you make 118 episodes out of 102 chapters. But the content is strong enough to mitigate it – so I think for a first time viewer it can be very enjoyable. I only remember a set of three episodes where I think really nothing exciting happens.

Michael Pruden

I mean the 4kidsdub ended with all the strawhats dying (On the cliffhanger of a shipwrecked ship falling down from Skypiya lol)

Krlllx

the sword that rust guy destroyed was the one that store owner gave to zoro in loguetown. And Dressrosa has one of the best written villains in anime. I still dont think you have reached peak one piece yet.

JMen

Whoever says Dressrosa is a bad arc is clearly on crack...

inpax

About comparing Lucci to the Marines, it's kind of like comparing CIA to the army. He's a spy directly under the government, so he doesn't have a rank in the marines per se. If he did thought, he'd probably be higher than Smoker. Notice the "probably" guys, don't kill me with replies of how he can't hit Smoker, I know that already

Patty Buns

it's not bad it's just very poorly paced (in the anime). the manga has some issues but i enjoyed it

Seraphem

Eh, he's likely on par with Smoker now. I'd say Lucci would most closely matchs a Vice-Admiral in terms of authority and combat skill, and Smoker just got promoted to that after getting credit for Alabaster.

Seraphem

Yeah, the 'worst' One Piece has to offer is still really damn good by any other series' standards. As for Dressrosa, that's mostly an issue with the anime. It's where the attempts to pad out the episodes with flashbacks to things that happened ten minutes ago and overly held reaction shots, etc... got to it's worst. The story is still pure hype! Just the pacing is kind of atrocious.

Nadia Nako

Love your passwords lol Don't listen to people talking about OP pacing! What they say is not all wrong but the pacing is more of an issue for people waiting for an episode of 20 mins each Sunday! You'll be able to watch the whole arc in a row so you won't be bored! IMO Dressrosa is one of the best arcs! Skypiea is my "worst" arc in OP, but it's still better than many mangas and/or anime out there!

Anonymous

Dressrosa arc is the worst arc? I knew it people are so stupid, I bet they are the same people who said skip Skypea arc. that arc had the potential of being the best arc in one piece, it's just that midway through the arc Toei (worst studio ever) decided to lower the budget and assign a new director for the anime, they saved money but delivered bad stretched anime, even with that Dressrosa still top 5 arc no doubt. that if you are looking for a quality story, but if you are looking for DBZ fight style then yes Dressrosa is bad.

Gregory Hilderbrand

yes that is a thing in shonen with a death of an mc. A certain mecha anime.

Gregory Hilderbrand

These are the ranks of marines/world government: Fleet admiral>Admiral>Vice Admiral>=Lucci>CP9>Captains

Nattis_O

For me, it really started to drag when they go to the new world around 6-700 mark if I remember right. It still has it's good moments but I had to take long breaks after certain binges because of the slow pacing.

Ray M Estrada

To me there are no "bad" arcs in One Piece, of course everyone has their favorites and least favorites and to be honest even my least favorite arc in OP is still miles ahead of many other animes.

Declan Gastineau

They really set up some weird expectations comparing all the captains to Smoker. They are not all nearly at that level. Axe-Hand Morgan was another example of a captain we know and he was just a pushover. The rank doesn't really hold much, so it's weird they had dialogue implying it did.

Rikin Patel

TOEI has actually stepped it A LOT. Their art direction, scenery, and animation have been top tier this past year and a half for the current arc!

Anonymous

Yo Ruff human blood got iron in it so doesn't captain rusting zoros arm kinda make sense? + Dressrosa is hella good, people r just tryin to catch up and not enjoy the series to full extent so dont get worried u will love that arc.

Romain

Just FYI Ruff (Of course no spoilers even though that's about Dressrosa), there was a quite famous guy who once reacted to OP called Uzumaki Khan. It's during Dressrosa arc he officially said he had to give up on Naruto to be he's fav anime, because OP is f****** too good. Dressrosa is long, very long, and it drags, some people don't stand it and I understand, but doesn't mean it's bad and I'm pretty sure you'll love to say it's one of your fav arc of OP someday lol

richie

here to say that dressrosa is my favorite arc! ruff you're gonna absolutely love it!!

DNAevolved 115

if you want a show where the mc dies at the end check out the anime akame ga kill. the manga continues, the anime has a different ending

DNAevolved 115

@RUFF bring your tissues to the next set of reactions my friend

TheJoestarWithTheStrawHat

Rob Lucci(the Kitten) lol, Dressrosa is tops my #3 or 4 its just bad pacing,

Anonymous

Manga readers didn’t have hate towards Dreasrosa that’s entirely an anime thing.

Irawanov

Luffy smile is something else, by the way dressrosa is not bad but long arc

KenKen

"idk what could go wrong in the next episodes" 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 Also Dressrosa is one of my personal favorite arcs Plz just hate it cuz it's long But the story telling is amazing, super emotional roller coaster ride I think you'll have a better time with it since u don't have to wait a week between each episode lol

KaitouLuminous

True there is one vice admiral who could have been an Admiral but refused the offer, here's a clue to who he is, he likes Rice crakers & doughnuts. one of the best Marines around, I just wouldn't trust him with children

MickFoley299

I don't know about anime or manga but I know that the original Doom Patrol comic run ended with the entire team getting killed.

MickFoley299

I wouldn't worry about Dressrosa. It is easily one of the best arcs in all of One Piece. It's in my top 3 and there are plenty of people that have it as the best arc.

Grady

Well I wouldn't go that far personally. It is all a matter of opinion though.

Nate D.

I had to stop watching at the dressrosa arc and move to the manga, a episode being only a chapter worth of content is just not enough, you haven’t gotten to the point where you can really honestly comment, as you are 2-300 episodes away from the point where people begin to really feel the drag, hell maybe even 400 episodes away

Anonymous

I think the only thing one piece related you can read right now is the Monsters OneShot, I don't have any links. It is a Manga story made by Oda before One Piece, it is set on the One Piece Universe, but like a Century ago. The only problem is that I don't know if there is a physical release of it available to buy. There are other OneShots that Oda made, those where made anime specials but they have some spoilers without context of future One Piece Developments, better to watch them later those are numbered episodes so watch them when you reach those numbers.

Anonymous

Another thing you could do is read the cover pages of the manga up to this arc, those are canon side stories that you would like, just get someone to get you those until this arc so you don't go ahead by accident.

hurryupmode

Aside from Davy Back Fight/Long Ring Long Land, there are no mediocre arcs in the manga. Anime is a little different because of pacing. But that comes with the territory of a weekly shonen title. I felt there was some sluggishness in the middle of certain later arcs in the anime, but the actual story and plot is still totally fucking solid. Imagine what could have been if they made the One Piece anime seasonal....

Grady

This is the finale that solidified One Piece as a top tier series for me. There are a couple not as strong arcs later down the line, but nothing too bad.

Néstor

Yeah luffy before this fight has never tried to kill someone until Lucci

ruffsenpai

Copy and paste it exactly how it’s listed in the description. Make sure there’s no spaces before or after

Anonymous

I think the problem people have with Dessarosa is the same with Skypea, it’s in the middle of two big things but still I think not only Dessarosa is super fun but it also has a lot of importance. For the pacing and stuff you will have to see it for yourself, I never thought it took away from the story as you said it, and every arc there is gonna be someone that hates it or loves it, you just have to not get super hyped or be scared to watch it bc in the end the whole anime is amazing and even its low parts are worth watching.

F. Carasind

And I would say although Long Ring Long Island isn't the peak of the manga it is on par with other arcs. It serves as a much needed breather, sets up the crew dynamics further and is the prologue to the entire theme of Water 7/Enies Lobby. It already shows two of the most extreme ways to lose a crew member: The silliest one (Davy Back fight) and looming death (Aokiji). And it gives Luffy room to show that he will not hesistate even a second if a crew member is missing – even forfeiting a sure win. The anime version of this arc for me is simply the worst one in the entire series...

LANA Dashie?

Ruff: “idk who would have the higher bounty but my bet is on God Usopp” Mine too

maayan D mayonnaise

In the series Akame ga Kill! all the main characters are dead

Flamo

That is the real point. Sometimes watching this or any anime week to week can make the pacing feel bad. Honestly you are watching it the best way possible. Being able to watch multiple episodes at a time several times a week is much better. People tend to hate long arcs because of having to wait a week for a new episode then not catch up on the fight they care about.

Anonymous

I LOVED Dressrosa. People just think it’s too long but it’s far from bad! There are BIG things happening/ being revealed in that arc you’re gonna enjoy it Ruff.

starpatrick

eh this next arc is more like skypiea in that sense, dressrosa is THE big thing but yea I agree with the rest of that

james hyde

Dressrosa is truly amazing

Jaya Norman

if u didn't know already, there's also a bunch of one piece movies... they're pretty much all filler ofc but still world building/ extra content

FreeFish

The only way to physically own the cover stories is to own the volumes.

Anonymous

Read the one shot monsters by Oda, its set in the same verse as one piece!

NrageQuit

I LOVED DRESSROSA, but at the time it came out it was hard for about 10 episodes beacuse you were waiting for the main fight for 10 weeks but it is truly amazing especially to rewatch

AzureWolfe

To my knowledge Lucci and the rest of CP9 are not in the military and thus don't have ranks. I'm pretty sure they work directly for the Head of the Government parallel to the Marines.

PoinT_BlanK

The build-up in dressrosa waiting for it still was satisfying. For sure the arc was super long but there was so much meaning to each episodes. I was one of the person who waited each week for it but still wouldn't even come close to say I hated it. Also when you make suggestions you have to suggest based on Ruff's perspective of how he likes anime not the viewer who thinks its bad

Anonymous

I think you'll definitely notice the length of that dressrosa ark but its not to the point of boredom. The little gems in that ark will blow your mind, plus anyone who truly hate it , are just impatient

Sarah Trow

I was able to binge Dressarosa...and it ended up being one of my favorite arcs. Some of your favorite moments so far are some of mine so I think you'll loe it.

john bill

I agree about SAO the only reason it got hate was because it got popular so fast and then it got a bit wacky but it was still a tier above most other generic anime.

Jason jepsen

yes I agree i actually did like sword art online with out hearing how bad it was suppose to be (I was not on social media) I am glad i did not hear that because i actually really enjoyed it I can see the problems but i love it all the same

Anonymous

In terms of one shots of manga one piece hasn't gone there really. Two come to mind, both are done by Boichi, the Dr stone guy. First is just a referring of back when Zoro fought mohawk, don't know if that's been printed. Also being worked on right now is a manga adaptation of some light novels featuring Ace, showing what he got up to before joining the Whitebeard Pirates.

Allram

There are lots of anime where the MC or the Heroine dies at the end :D fyi

K Vid

Regarding the reference to Deku getting killed by "One For All", that's the name of his power. I think you mean All For One. But, yeah, that would be ballsy.

Ree

Dressrosa is a GOOD arc and so well put together. There is a lot of important information in it for later. I feel like you'll love it.

Gentjan Murataj

Who is that stupid moron that says desrossa is bad like wtf dessrosa shows all strawhats power up and has one of the best storylines of all arc u are all out of ur god damn mind
