Ruff you should write down on a piece of paper each nen category and what it does. Then you can just look at it when they mention them. It will be much easier to follow lol

Okay, this will be a big comment explaining and reviewing Nen: * Ten = Shroud - shrouding yourself in aura as a defense. * Zetsu = Null - nullifying your aura to hide your presence * Ren = Enhance - building up a bunch of aura to use in different techniques. * Hatsu = Act - special abilities, they vary depending on the person and their aura type. (ex: Hisoka's Bungee Gum and Texture Surprise. Castro's Double, Illumi's needles, etc.) Advanced techniques we've seen so far: * In = Conceal - An advanced application of Zetsu used to hide your aura. Zetsu hides your presence (and aura), In only hides your aura. * Gyo = Focus - An advanced application of Ren used to focus your aura into one body part. A common application is to focus in your eyes to see through In. Hatsu is special abilities (which Gon and Killua haven't developed yet) They depend on your aura type, but you can also learn abilities outside your type, it will just be much more difficult. Aura types: * Enhancer - skills that make yourself or objects stronger (Kastro's Tiger Bite Fist) * Emitter - skills that let you separate your aura from yourself as a projectile, can sometimes be controlled from a distance (no examples yet). * Transmuter - skills that change the properties of your aura or actually change your aura into something. (Hisoka's Bungee Gum) * Conjurer - skills that create things with your aura, people who can't use Nen are able to see the conjured thing. (Kastro's Body Double) * Manipulator - skills that manipulate living things or objects. (Kastro's skill used to control his Double, Illumi's skill to change his own appearance) * Specialist - catch all used for very rare and unique abilities. (no examples yet)

Hisoka only has 2 skills (applications of Hatsu) that we've seen so far, Bungee Gum, and Texture Surprise. That random commentator guy was a cameo from another series, I forgot from what though.

I love the 44 Card exchange with Hisoka. It's one of the highlights of the show for me

There are very, very few differences between the manga and anime. The vast majority of the major ones are solely in the first episode, too.

Jer

You may want to watch the first episode of the 1999 version or read the start of the manga. It gives Gon more backstory on why he wants to be a Hunter and gives important context to a character who shows up much later in the show. This version cut that beginning stuff, so if you do decide to pick up the manga, check out the beginning.

At this point and in the next big arc, Gon and Killua have a little moment where they talk about a character for every episode after the ending credits, much like Demon Slayer did. They even both did the 'Schwing' for Hisoka's episode.

Hisoka's fight against Gon reminds me somewhat of Gon vs Hanzo, but with Nen.

Nen is a power system so well thought and diverse that you can apply it to multiple anime shows. Ruff, you're right when you say that this power system is like a mixture of many anime power systems.

Gotta say, after seeing a Floor Master battle in the manga (it's something as of yet unanimated), the trio of newbie crushers would have been clapped so hard, so fast if they tried competing. Those three are insanely ignorant lol.

Yeah, this is one of my top anime ever. Heck, one of my favorite shows in general.

I would suggest you to avoid names of the arcs AND when the arc will end. If I knew some of that information first time when I was watching it than it would not be as enjoyable, especially some of the later arcs. I am just telling you this to make your reactions even better and more enjoyable for you. Also, I don't think anyone would be that mad because you ended your reaction on second to last episode of the arc if it means that you would have less of a direction where an arc might go or how it will end or something. I hope that I was somewhat clear about what I was trying to say. And I just think that way reactions are even more enjoyable for us.

I can’t say hxh has the best music but the music they do have is insanely appropriate every time they use it

BennLimos

Dude, you came during Killua's fight I could tell lol. Not blaming you though

Haha. you're still saying some characters names wrong. Leorio is pronounced like LAY-Oh-rio not LEE-Oh-rio, and Kurapika is pronounced like Kuh-RAP-pika not KURA-Pika, and Gon is pronounced like the word "Own" with a G sound in the front G-Own not like the word "Gone" so a long o not a short o.

Josh Lomax

You wrote some of those wrong. It would be LAY-OR-EE-OH and KUH-RAW-PIKA, but its not like he's the only one. Every reactor I've seen has said Gon and Kurapika's name wrong. At least he didn't think Kurapika was a girl
