One thing I love as Luffy as a main character is that he loses from time to time. It makes him seem more human and relatable

Prof. Walker

This is the episode to remind you, One Piece is NOT Naruto. The Main Character can lose and he is FAR from the strongest. Plus winning a fight because MC isn't here.

The fact that in One Piece the main character loses the fight on several occasions is one of the best aspects of the show imo. It shows that the characters (especially the MC) have a long way to go before becoming the strongest so you can see their development during all their adventures over the course of the show. Also the thing Miss All-Sunday aka Nico Robin said about the people of "D" is extremely important to the story that's gonna come up alot throughout the series

Though it can also be heartbreaking and terrifying to watch our main characters become so hurt in the process. (FYI I love you're profile picture I'm a massive Kaitou kid fan)

Smoker can easily take out all of the Straw Hats if they fought. Don't forget that he's made out of smoke so none of them could even land a single blow on him. Also, I would like to once again say what I said in a past video. Be sure that you don't watch the new intro that starts at 116. It has a major spoiler in it. You can start watching it starting with 132.

When Crocodile was making his speech about devil fruit powers, basically what he meant was that fighting with a devil fruit completely depends on how you use it and that coming up with creative ways to utilize your powers can make you much stronger. You can already see this over the course of this series, with weaker enemies like Buggy and Mr. 5 mainly using their abilities in the most basic manner vs. how Crocodile uses his ability, and as you get deeper into the show you'll see both Luffy and other characters use their devil fruits in super creative ways!

Seconding the comment above. Smoker would wipe the floor with all of the Strawhats (as they are now) even if they all attacked him at the same time.

Miss All Sunday (or Nico Robin, as Crocodile addressed her), has been doing some very interesting things. - Back in Whiskey Peak, right before Igaram's boat blows up, you quickly see a bunch of arms reaching across a black screen. We now know that's her ability. The implication is that she pulled him off the boat. - She tried to send the Strawhats on a different route to Alabasta by trying to stop them from having to wait a year for their log pose to set in Little Garden. (Thankfully they found an eternal pose.) - She didn't kill Pell by completely breaking his spine in two. - And now she saves Luffy. Like Dr. Kureha mentioned at the end of Drum Island, this Nico Robin lady is also curious about the Will of D. It's clear she has her own goals, different from Crocodiles, but at this point, we're not sure what they are.

omi2108

actually smoker would have wiped them all in there current state if there was a proper chance!

We're getting VERY close to the 3rd Opening (happens either 116 or 118) and I implore you it has a HUGE post-Alabasta spoiler so avoid watching it at all costs until AFTER episode 130. Toei really threw a turd to anime-only watchers on the timing of that opening.

I was waiting for these episodes. I knew RuffSenpai would be shook when Yuba's destroyed, and not only does Luffy lose, but is nearly killed. Then those with the name D is brought up again. Then everyone is set to clash at the same time. Then Igram comes back. Lol, such great build up for an arc.

GordoGonk

kinda spoilery but k

SlapHappyGreen

mmmmm yeah maybe a little bit and I kinda thought about that after I entered the comment but I dont think I give anything too specific

Veritas

Too much info imo

I feel like the greatest misconception about Luffy is that he doesn't kill people out of kindness or something. When its more in the vein of forcing people he surpasses to live with their defeat/failure, as dying is the easy way out. But This is in the end more speculation than fact.

A theory of mine is: Try pinching a needle through a balloon, then push your finger through that small hole, it stretches and get bigger, but when you pull your finger out again, the hole is still only needle thick. His vest has a big hole, but not Luffy. I do NOT believe that is some kind of censorship as we seen much worse. I imagine it like that. It's my own idea :P

Josh Lomax

just so you know, if Smoker wanted to, he could woop the entire Straw Hat crew even if thry sll fought him together. Smoker's a Logia type DF user, super OP and the Monstef Trio won't get strong enough to fight him evenly until the 400s

Oda has already given the fact of this question "why doesn't Luffy kill prople?" He said "The reason Luffy doesn't kill is this: In his era, men live by their beliefs and risk their lives to defend them. Luffy shatters the beliefs of his enemies by defeating them. For them to suffer defeat and to have their beiefs destroyed is as bad as death. Killing their bodies is beside the point. I feel that, as a pirate, Luffy and his enemies care more about victory and defeat than they care about their lives."

Most people consider Zoto to be the First Mate, as he is often an authority figure in Luffy's absense.
