for eren it was always humanity against titans. it was very black and white. learning about his dad and the reiss family kind of broke his beliefs, I think

it was mentioned that the memories are inherited from the titan power that eren has. it was triggered when Rod Reiss and Historia touched him earlier. he saw a glimpse of his fathers memories in the same way he also saw Frieda's memories. They're all factually correct.

You'd probably lose your determination like Eren if you had to watch a hundred adults give their lives for you while feeling like you are not worth their sacrifice. If he were to just shrug it all off and act like he's the main character so fuck everyone else he'd just be a psychopath instead of a three dimensional human.

Eren was so dismotivated due to the mental stress it has on him knowing how many people died for him and the death of his father, imagine losing your memory and then remember that YOU ATE YOUR OWN FATHER. That's so messed up, the weird thing would be if Eren didn't felt anything at all.
