I wanted to pick y'alls brains a little bit! I've been thinking about having an ✨Inspiration Day✨: a day meant specifically for refilling the well. For enjoying, learning, and maybe even analyzing the new and the old.

While I've had no "official" Inspiration Day in the past, usually I find the most inspiration by walking through libraries or bookstores and hitting up museums for a few hours. (Museums are my faaaaavorite source of inspiration.)

If you could set up your dream Inspiration Day, what would it look like?

Would you stay at home and read or watch as much as you could? And would you stick to old favorites, comfort rereads/rewatches, or would you specifically seek out everything new?

Are you switching up domains completely and refilling the well and inspiring yourself through different forms of art? Paint all day or try embroidery or watching YouTube videos on how to sew your own clothes?

Would you go out and try a new restaurant or hike a new trail or just take a different road back to your home?

Or does your Inspiration Day include more specific research for your story? Are you checking out specific books, trying to interview local experts, and having a "no writing day" but a full research day?

Let me know!! I'm going to try taking an Inspiration Day here soon and I'd love to try some of your favorites! And if you've been craving a day just to refill the well, then please take this as my challenge to you. :)

I like to watch movies or tv and listen for a line that makes me go .. “what if..” or “what if you turn it on its head and ……”. Also I like to take a walk and make up something from what I see that you shouldn’t necessarily see when walking in a residential area and then ask “how did that (fill in the blank) get here”

I’m very extroverted, so my inspiration day would definitely involve leaving the house (preferably with friends). If it’s a self-care day, I would wake up early and spend extra time on my morning routine (use nice hair products, put on full make-up, pick a cute outfit). Then my friends and I would do something artsy like go to a museum or see an indie film (we have several indie theaters that play student, experimental and classic movies). Then it’d be off to a local cafe. When I got home I would write. Even though it’s a refill day, writing is still very relaxing to me. End the day with another long night routine (face masks, pillow spray, etc) and reading. Ofc have to light a candle and play some music. YouTube channels like Nemo’s Dreamscapes plays oldies music to rain sounds it’s 10/10.
