Dear Patrons:

We hope you’re doing well and spring has sprung where you are. If not, I have some news that will, hopefully, put a little spring in your step even if your world is still wintery.

If you’ve been a patron for a while, you know that can only mean one thing--One Night Adventure: the Tutor, the second in my One Night Adventure game series, is nearly complete! Two days ago, I sent what I hope to be the final draft to Riptoryx for proofing. Before I did, though, I took a quick screenshot of its statistics:

Since most adult novels are in the 70,000-100,000 word count range, at 93,000+ words this is the largest creative project I’ve ever completed and will provide a lengthy novel’s worth of weight-gain oriented content. Of course, this is a game so you won’t read through it linearly. As Riptoryx noted in his preview a couple of months ago (link), he did several playthroughs without even reaching significant portions of my Twine ball ;). It’s grown even bigger now, with nearly 500 unique passages to visit and almost 1,000 links to follow!

It's twice as big as One Night Adventure: The Party and, while that was basically a glorified Choose Your Own Adventure with some gamey embellishments, this is definitely a game. There’s a save feature, random events, items to collect, and all sorts of variables that will impact your playthrough. A passage may seem the same from one playthrough to the next, but there will often be a Butterfly Effect based on the items you’ve gathered and interactions you’ve had, which in turn will open up new options and branches of the story to explore!

Of course, all the bells and whistles in the world won’t make playing through a lame story fun. To that end, I think you’ll be pleased. IMHO, it has a compelling arc and, as I told Riptoryx when I sent him my final draft, a player can basically play as a White Knight or a lecherous scoundrel and get satisfying results either way. However, if you know my work (and I know you do!), I lean heavily into lecherous scoundrel territory. Expect lots of Maverick staples: revenge, humiliation, stuffing, and some serious psychological warfare! As the cherry on top of this fattening sundae, your generous patronage allowed us to commission a bunch of illustrations from Silverpathfinder that compliment the action and provide fun little Easter Eggs for you to find while you’re working through the 30+ endings and multiple epilogues.

OK, enough hype. Let’s talk release! After Riptoryx completes his corrections and edits, the plan is to issue the game to a handful of patrons for “beta testing” before next month’s official release. We still need to work out the parameters of the beta test, but if you’re interested in participating, please sign-up by responding below. (Preference will be given to volunteers from the highest tiers.)

Although I am extremely proud of the game, I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. So now that it’s nearly finished (and I’m getting past those personal hiccups I referenced last week), I will be returning my attention to more traditional fattening fare like “The Harem on the Hill” and the sequel I promised to “Lilly of the Valley.”

In the meantime, thank you for your patience and patronage!

Maverick

I’m available to beta test if you’re low on volunteers (which i highly doubt y’all will be, but I figured I’d toss my hat into the ring)

Any updates on the release of the game yet?

mavrip

Yes! Earlier today, after a few weeks of tinkering, I sent Mav an updated version of the game file with a bunch of improvements to the visual elements and various minor bug fixes. There are still a few lingering bits in need of attention, but I think this is the tail end of the "alpha" stage. Next stop after that: the "beta" test with you folks! -Riptoryx
