Just for fun. I like the little character I made of my persona. I don't look like that, but that's kinda what I imagine the real Marquis de Sade would look like as a modern guy. This shoes my current method. My upcoming Bel comic is also in this style.

1. Rough it out with a brush set to pressure opacity and nothing else. i'm not going for fine detail, just figuring out where stuff is. I often get too invested in this stage, which is only a waste of time since it's better to figure stuff out later.

2. Rough in the colors. One big shade at a time. This part is still very frustrating for me.

3. Clean up the line-art now that I see where the mistakes are, and I color the lines to help guide my understanding of where the shadows should go. The fire-ax is the only light-source, because I'm a noob.

4. Shade the shadows in with black. I'll then set that to multiply, and I'll color the pixels with some very soft shading, so the black becomes reds, oranges, and even some yellows.

5. Blending with the smudge brush, and some random little touch-ups.

I'm very happy with how this method is working out. There are some reasons why it is especially difficult for comics though (as I'm learning right now with the Bel comic), since I basically have to work on the whole composition at once, instead of piece by piece, but it might be worth it. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for sharing, Avatar Marky looks great, better than blob Marky (on a note who looks like his avatar)

Quite an improvement you made for your avatar. This is a good process and might give it a try and thanks for sharing this with everyone.
