Some of the best advice I ever got as a kid was to never do any drugs unless your dealer did them first. That's basically why I've only done the easy stuff, like weed and shrooms and things of that level. I use to do molly for a while, when I was actually going to big festivals and shows and stuff, but I stopped the molly when I could no longer differentiate between what the drugs made me feel and what I actually felt.
I guess my point is, I'm a bad dealer. I don't enjoy my art as much as any of you do, which is obvious since I can't imagine paying $20 a month for it, or even $10 of $5. I'm selling a drug that I'm not willing to do myself (although I consume lots of 34 from other artists).
I guess this is basically a very broad open-ended question. Why? What do I make that you like? I use to go by metrics to figure that out, but my metrics are confusing. What people 'like' and what people actually enjoy don't seem to correlate all that much. I wish I had more personal vision for myself, but I don't. I'm a blind man stabbing in the dark. And you don't have to think of it as "What am I willing to pay for?" I'm more interested in hearing "What do I want to look at?"
I've got bad feelings about the Ladybug comic. Particularly about the ages of the characters. I think drawing aged-up pinnups is fine, but my comic is too close to the show, and I'm wondering if I should feel more uncomfortable about it than I do, and I'm already starting to feel uncomfortable.
Dragonborn and the Dark Brotherhood? Does anyone remember or care?
Mark the Barbarian? I've got a couple small duke sketches related to him, but he is so stupid and indulgent that I feel silly using him.
I've wasted at least ten hours this week just looking at my screen and thinking " . . . What?" It's hurting my productivity. A lot.
I guess if I have one question it's this; What are you paying for? What makes it worth it? If you're too shy to comment below, I understand. I'll accept emails. markydaysaid@gmail.com. If you don't want to correspond, you just want to leave a message, just mention than in the email, and I won't write back. Conversely, if you DO want me to write back, you need to specify that too. I'm terrible about just reading a message and letting that be the end of the conversation.
