- modelling, around 30h of work, getting there. Mostly done with the base for the hair.

- This is actually way more time consuming than I originally thought. It's also pretty difficult to model and tweak thanks to the interlocking geometry, but I'm still mostly enjoying the process, it's about the right ratio of fun and frustration for me.

 - wanted to just post the whole thing when it was done for the wow factor, but it's simply too long a process for that to have with no updates.

- I'd say this is 40% complete, but most of the heavy lifting is done minus a few areas in the front. Aside from that, it's a matter of detailing now.

Wonder, is it for Skyrim or Fallout 4? How would physics work on this hair?

jmenaru

It'd work in both visually, imo, which was what I was aiming for. It's interesting enough to be in a fantasy setting and (while not visible yet because of no detail) messy and "fast" enough to be a wasteland hairdo. I will most likely not have physics for this hair. But if the question is general, physics in Fallout 4 are very simple/old. You just have some bones and you rig stuff to those and they move around. For this, I'd imagine mostly the whole back would just flop around like a giant ponytail. HDT for skyrim works similarly. More modern engines like unreal for instance have simulations that would work with individual strands and whatnot, which give a more realistic result.

This looks absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see the final result! Good job :)

Thanks :) I'm confident that the final result will blow this out of the water completely :P
