What is his actual argument here? Because what I am getting is "humans are social creatures that make rules of acceptable group behavior, therefore god."

I wasn't able to follow what he said, but from your explanation it sounds like "Images appear in my mind, so they must exist......... somewhere? "

As a borne and breaded Atheist I find no problem of evil. I was raised to scoff & mock, to rebuke and deny and to blaspheme. Evil was 1st nature and as easy as falling off a cross.

This guy is as confusing as the rabbi who opined on wishful thing!

Brian Gibson

You got it right. The same old tired argument.

I don't agree in the least - because I agree with the explanations Logicked offered. However I DO understand what he's trying to claim. He's drawing a parallel... He is essentially saying that people like this are evil. And WE atheists say that "the existence of evil is a problem for a belief in a benign god". But HE is claiming that "the existence of EVIL also does demand a supernatural explanation". And that: 1. The way we feel about it proves that some sort of objective morality does exist 2. That a supernatural explanation is required to "explain this degree of evil" (He doesn't consider it CONSISTENT for a materialist to disapprove of aspects of reality.)

For a title I might suggest: "Evil is a problem for Atheists too... "

Logicked

"1. The way we feel about it proves that some sort of objective morality does exist" tl;dr "Feelings = facts" "(He doesn't consider it CONSISTENT for a materialist to disapprove of aspects of reality.)" I know. He said that. But why? I guess because of the ridiculous realm of forms shit? To disapprove of something is to posit the existence of something else which is supernatural? Ehh, it's a mess.
