Hey patrons! I wanted to let you know so it doesn't seem like I'm suddenly being secretive about my earnings: I've always been curious what, if any, impact keeping your Patreon earnings private has versus keeping them public, and so to satisfy my curiosity, I'm going to try having them private for a while to see if there's any sudden significant change in the numbers, either up or down.

I've wondered the same... please share your findings, if comfortable.

Honestly, I feel encouraged when I see the sight of your earnings. It makes me feel like the contributions are accomplishing something. That being said, if you feel more comfortable with the earnings being private, I can understand that.

I feel comfortable either way. There's a reason I've kept it public for years. Worth a try to see what happens, though, I figure.

I generally look at the amount a creator is making and compare it to my own salary. If they are making more than I do I consider moving my support to another creator that doesn’t make as much. Making the amount private won’t matter to me because I don’t check how much someone makes very often. Making it private may turn off new patrons, speaking for myself, if I see a private setting I probably pass on support. My thought is they are hiding the amount because they don’t want people to see they are making 9k a video which would discourage my support.

It's certainly possible. I've had the same thought. About time to give it a try and see, eh?

I actually didn't know we could see your earnings. I just remember watching your video where you asked for support to continue making great videos. Personally, you have my support regardless of how much you make-provided I am still employed. Keep up the great work!
