Content

Hey guys! As some of you will know I've wanted to experiment with written tutorial content. At the moment I really only have one article I have written as an example of what this kind of content might look like: http://gamemakertutorials.com/?p=383 There are some advantages and disadvantages to writing articles. While videos can be more accessible and 'quick' to get into learn from, articles can sometimes afford to be much more in-depth without having to worry as much about things like pacing and presentation when the reader has access to all of the text at once. One other advantage is that it's much easier for me to change or update article content when it becomes either outdated, or there is a mistake or sub-optimal approach being taught. This is a much harder problem to deal with on YouTube. I wanted to ask you guys what you think about article content and video content and what type of thing you typically prefer, which you might prefer to learn from under different conditions. Maybe some things you prefer reading about, and other topics are better suited to video. What do you think? I should point out this is not in any way an indication that I'm planning to 'swap' from one type of content to another, I'll be making videos regardless for the forseeable future but I've wanted to supplement that content with articles and I'm just interested in the kinds of things you find useful or not so useful about each one. Leave thoughts below!

some people like videos, some people like the written way.

I like the idea that you could update written articles easier than videos. It would also be nice to read about some more in depth aspects of Game Maker and be able to easily refer back to them. As opposed to trying to remember what time stamp you were talking about a particular concept.
