Magic had "not-changed" AGAIN. Not-again?

Nanase cursed the word choices of others.

Wanting to make sure her fairy doll spell still worked as expected, and in foul enough a mood to lack the patience to check her spell book, Nanase stood by her bed, closed her eyes, and cast the spell.

Even with her eyes shut, Nanase could tell she was being bathed in light. Had her eyes been open, she would have seen that it was her clothes that were glowing.

She guessed this quickly enough without looking, however, as she felt her clothes rapidly reshaping around her. It felt as though her clothes had simply divided into several small parts, and twirled around her before settling in new places and forms.

Nanase would have easily deduced that the light was intended to offer modesty during the change had she not been so distracted by a serious case of the "what is even happening".

Perhaps oddest of all was the feeling of her heels risings from the ground as some part of her outfit became high heels, though it had competition from everything else whooshing around her and reforming.

Light returned to normal, and her clothes seemed done changing. Nanase looked down, and then behind her. She was wearing what appeared to be a green fairy costume, and she was surrounded by small lights glittering in the air.

As the glittering lights faded, Nanase decided to check her closet's mirror, and to take some selfies, before experimenting further.

If capable of such a thing, her spell book would feel neglected.

Nanase looks gorgeous in green

Taigan

Akiko would love that.

Narzain

And now spellbooks in Moperville will be susceptible to fits of angst and ennui if neglected. This is my headcanon now.

David Fenger

Perhaps they always have been. One can imagine they're a fragment of the Will of Magic itself...

Are the wings part of her, or part of the costume?

Michael C.

I'm guessing from the shoulder straps that the wings are part of the costume.

Windscion

Costume I think. Otherwise the spaghetti straps on her shoulders would serve no purpose.

David Fenger

Well spotted - I'd noticed the straps, but not connected it. I guess this is an outgrowth of the "dress the fairy doll up however you like" aspect...

Magical girl fighter Nana green in the name of.... the video store? She will punish you

She could join Cheerleadra as The Green Fairy.

John Trauger

Fortunately for Nanase, she could consider the outfit she was weraring to be acceptable losses.

Chronos Cat

So this seems to just be a clothing change spell, but it would have been funny if she still wound up in a new body, and when she returned to her original she was left with a life-sized doll of herself.

Violet Moon

Is this canon??

Some Ed

My headcanon says that is indeed what is happening here. The reason we don't see her laying on the bed or something was she cast the spell to visit someone else who happens to be just off-panel. She is laying on her own bed, which is much farther off panel.

the short story states that she was standing next to her bed as she cast the spell, and also that she could feel her clothes changing, and considering the wings, it would appear that rather than create an actual fairy doll for her to send her consciousness to, she instead transformed into a full sized version of what the fairy doll could have been. the question though is, does she still have the Fae abilities (Punch, crystal orb, etc) in that form and only those for the duration of her time in that form? or does she have everything she can do still available?
