Commentary

I imagine this could be VERY technically demanding depending on the character creation systems at play and how the whole system works.

In Skyrim, for example, there's just a weight slider. You might say "I remember more character creation options", and you'd be correct, but the weight slider is the only thing something like this would be concerned with, as it's what affects physique. It would also hardly be worth messing with, as characters would just go to "not that bulky" to "bulky".

Fallout 4 has something that could work better with this. Instead of a slider going from light to heavy, it's a triangle that allows for really thin, muscular, and heavy characters with plenty in the middle area.

Granted, I also think Fallout 4 would spontaneously combust if there was a ray gun or something that messed with that on the fly. I could be wrong about that, but I just imagine crash after crash.

That said, I think a lot of physical effects could be represented by messing with just muscularity, weight, and height, and I've got to figure there are modern games that could handle this sort of nonsense.

For sandboxy games like Fallout it would likely mainly require ensuring on-the-fly changes working reliably. ;; Most other games have fixed models, because it takes a lot of extra effort to design unique character models that ALSO work well with such variations. Most models have outfit and body merged into one model, because it is mich easier to get right. ;; The wish is likely too niche for most games to bother. Linux and Mac support should give better ROI, and even that's often not worth the effort to devs. ;; I use semicolons in place of newlines because Patreon webpage sucks on mobile and conflates "Enter" and "Send".

Have you tried using the Patreon app? That's pretty much all I use and It Knows The difference There is likely some combo on mobile to line/page break correctly if Enter = Send but since I don't use it I'm not sure what it would be.

I'm not sure I see the point of this one. I mean, buff/debuff of NPCs I get, but I don't think that's what Tedd is looking for here

I would love this sort of thing - I never thought about affecting appearances with buffs, but it's great. Though mostly I would love a game that lets you change how your character looks as you play. I've yet to find a game that has truly satisfying character customization, and being able to make even more adjustments as you played would be amazing. Also, I'm always happy to see Rhoda being used for TF examples. :)

Latency

The new game biomutant has a character creation where your physical stats affect the way you look. But past the initial setup, increasing those stats through levelling up doesn't change the way you look. Also you can completely change your appearance without affecting your stats later in the game too... so it's kind of pointless, but I thought it was a cool idea if they had followed through on it

Surprisingly, that actually works. Still find it backwards though, for mobile at least.
