Creepy kids

Commentary

Sadly, this does not mean we can all gain psychic powers by wearing AWESOME late eighties and early nineties fashion. Only kids might get it, and frankly, I don't think any of us want them to have it anyway. Fortunately, very few of them would want to wear such rad clothes anyway.

Also, sorry to make a twins joke, twins. I'm sure many of you get sick of those. I just felt I had to because of a scene from The Shining.

And to any twins who unironically love those jokes, you're welcome.

This was not the question I originally planned to answer today. Granted, I was waffling between two different options, neither of which I was happy to follow the previous question with, so there wasn't exactly one question that was planned, either.

Anyway, I was thrilled to see this question late in the day even though it meant catastrophic lateness, and it was because I knew I could come up with a silly, relatively wholesome answer for it.

An issue of my own creation is that too many of the answers I've come up with to questions lean into deliberately suggestive nonsense with, um... "Interesting visuals". I'm fine with some of that, I know what comic I'm making, but I don't want that to be fifty percent of what the wrong answers are, let alone an even higher percent than that.

So I'm considering what I do and don't want to do, revising some of my plans, etc. There will still be the sort of things I have referred to, don't worry, surely very small percentage of readers who like those things (so surely, much certainty). I just want to make sure it's not done as simply the easiest and quickest answers without bringing on the funny.

I mean, the funny by my standards. I may yet not bring on adequate funny for your standards, but I can't help that, it's subjective, WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENTY FUNNY-O-METERS IN OUR BRAIN-SKULLS.

As one of that clearly and most definitely small group of readers who enjoys deliberately suggestive nonsense with "interesting visuals", all I can say is knowing that some of that is upcoming has made my utterly rotten day a little bit better. This comic helped too. :) Poor Luke, kid's going to have a heart attack before this is over.

One: Nevermind, that's Rhea not Charlotte. Two: Is that Akiko in panel 3? I ask because she only wanted the one cookie, so why would she use telekinesis (unless she wanted to <strike>steal</strike> borrow extra for her sister). Also also: does her sweatshirt actually say "BODE"?

That is Akiko in panel three, why wouldn't she use telekinesis if it were an option, and the shirt says "DUDE". I considered implying that she was making the cookie grow bigger, but I didn't think I could clearly convey that in a single panel without more setup. I know how I could draw it so one might hopefully reach that conclusion, but I think it would've just been needlessly confusing for most readers.

Note: Do not let your daughter dress as Princess Peach for Halloween.

Wait, brain skull? Is there other type of skull? And other type of brain? Am I missing out? =O

Brooks Moses

There are brain skulls, talking-to skulls (c.f. Hamlet), and drinking skulls. Also many creatures have non-skull brains. Octopi in particular!
