In which the former monk can only recall the name of the most recent drink she's heard of.

Commentary

A WILD CATALINA APPEARS!

It is of no importance whatsoever to the plot, but in my mind, that bartender has gotten into fights with bandits, and that scar on her left arm is from blocking a blade with her left arm, which was immediately followed by punching out the bandit with her right arm.

I have nothing so specific regarding the scars on her scalp and eyebrow, and that missing part of her left ear. Those could just be from pub brawls.

Anyway, don't start trouble in her pub.

Note: That "technically" is nothing sinister. She's just referring to the alcohol itself.

What, you DON'T want her drunk?

Ariamaki

That bartender is a pretty great new design, I approve.

I mean, LOOK at her. Her scars already tell such a story that Dan couldn't help but mention them in the commentary

There's a world of difference between dead drunk and just plain dead…

Dan Curtis

their meeting each other is consistent throughout every universe.

I foresee many suggestions for the bartender in future sketchbooks. :)

I'm not suggesting transformation beer but....

This bartender looks a lot like a bartender I knew back in the day who was very explicit about not needing hugs. Just saying, so you know.

That's totally fair, and there would be asking before any hugs were provided - or not provided as the case may be.

> Note: That "technically" is nothing sinister. She's just referring to the alcohol itself. The fact that a disclaimer like this is necessary is one of the things that makes me weep for the species.

Or even introducing her to the story comic as a *fifth* recurring adult character. (The other four I can think of being Edward, Adrian, and the Dunkels.)
