Seems like the subs you are using are causing some confusion. In the one I watched, it was translated as Araragi saying he was only interested in her 'assets' with the double meaning of financial or .... those two large round assets she has. If you need a better source, I think these versions should be a bit better: https://static.dominicnicholson.com/Videos/Anime/Monogatari/

If people come to find more translation errors then I wouldn't mind swapping sources but so far I don't mind what they have now. As long as there aren't any big errors in the plot then it's cool but I'll bookmark your link just in case 👍

Glad to see you keep enjoying the Kizu movies. Just a few things to point out that can be easy to miss on first viewing since it's easy to get wrapped up in the fights and the hanekawa/araragi dynamic. First the reason he didn't do that tree bit against kanbaru's rainy devil or nadeko's snakes is because he has retained less than 1/10th of his vampirism in bake. Second that scene in the field is huge like overly stuffed with callbacks and parallels the most important of which is how araragi describes hanekawa. Saying that he can't understand why she would go so far for someone she just met and how scary someone so willing and eager to make that self sacrifice is to the people around them, sounds identical to how senjougahara describes araragi being willing to go so far for others he just met. Lastly hanekawa saying her being like that isn't self sacrifice but self satisfaction also parallels araragi in bake, with the perfect example being the kanbaru rainy devil case he was willing to die so that kanbaru and senjougahara could reconnect, he wasn't thinking about senjougahara or anyone else would feel about that he just did what he wanted to do because of his own feelings not for others. There is that fine difference between doing something for someone else to satisfy them and doing something for someone else to satisfy yourself which is a running theme in the series. Sorry for the long comment just thoughts it'd be good to get some further insight on the why for these things. Lastly yeah hanekawa is easily best girl for Kizu, though trust me when I say Shinobu later in the series easily takes the cake as best girl.

No it's all good, I actually think you pointing out the parallels between this and Bake was awesome! I can clearly see the similarities between Araragi (in Bake) and Hanekawa now and I think it's actually so cool that they hinted at that as well. Also I can easily see Shinobu climbing up the Best Girl list soon but for now I just haven't seen enough of her compared to Hanekawa 😅
