I've been busy so haven't had time to comment on this, but I honestly really love that you don't have them go all the way the first time. They've very obviously got various hangups they're going to need to deal with personally, and as much as fun as it is sex doesn't actually cure/fix everything! It is also going to make that impact when they do go all the way so much *more*. I'm glad of the way you've drawn them dancing around each other because it makes a lot of sense for how you've portrayed them: Ghost very much has a shell built up around him as a result of his trauma that has turned him into a wraith. Sure Price got through that (love all of that btw), but that feels like it's partly been because he was there *before* Ghost turned into the 'monster' that Ghost sees himself as/is. WHICH MAN. The word 'monster' in the Monster AU fills some fun niches! But I'll resist that tangent for the moment. Soap is a new variable in Ghost's life. He's been very forward about what he wants, but Ghost is worried about Soap's reaction to /all/ of Ghost and that makes sense! I could also see it being a bit of a worry (unfounded with Soap) that there's some 'clout' chasing for getting with a monster that's so rare. And then there's the fact that Ghost has read Soap's file and about what was written there, particularly about one of Soap's previous superior officers. What we've had hinted at is that they were very much trying to make Soap something he wasn't, were trying to 'tame' him and Ghost actually knows the details better than we the audience do. I don't doubt that there's probably some good reasons Ghost has been a bit hesitant there too. AND NOW TO THE MONSTER BIT. I may be going off into the weeds and reading too much into somethings but- So! Monster is a fun word. This is the 'monster' au, full of 'monsters' like harpies, dragons, etc etc. I think most of the audience here doesn't have negative connotations around the word monster, or at least has a generally neutral bent to it. But even for those of us who are nerds reading literal monster fucking comics on the internet, there's the other flip side to monster as well, the more negative connotations. In video games its an enemy that's there to be killed, looted, and you get exp from. It's not something worth worrying over because it's usually just a vehicle for transferring gold/money/items to the monster (Thanks Undertale for examining this in a way a lot of people get!). They can be easy foes or tough, dangerous opponents especially in games where normally the enemies are vanilla humans. I suspect that Monsters in the monster AU might sometimes get called this flavor of monster as a derogatory term, or at least it colors some particularly rough. When talking about people, a monster is someone who is acting so terribly, so horrifically we don't consider them human anymore! They've broken the social etiquette/code/contract that says 'hey we live in this society together, i won't exhibit bodily harm on you & you don't exhibit bodily harm on me' or have otherwise acted in ways that shock and frighten the majority of the human population. And Ghost very much sees himself as this second type of monster. Sure, Price helped break him out of some of that but also it feels like maybe not completely? Like at the time when he was praising Ghost for how cleanly he dealt with Roba, he didn't /know/ about Ghost smashing the face of traitor-mctraitorson into the vials of blood and how that contributed to Roba's transformation and being able to display even more viciousness. I do think/hope Simon would have told John later, eventually, but I'm not so sure. They got pretty unhealthy as per word of author, so I could see it being 'you're /my/ monster' type vibes. And there's also Simon's upbringing! "Don't let dad hear you talking like that." Or whatever the exact quote is when his younger brother speaks favorably of monsters. He probably grew up with some anti-monster bias (and seems to have overcome the part of it that would be directed outwards as seen by his close companionship with Price), but just because he's managed to do that work doesn't mean he's prepared for /being/ a monster himself! What would his dad say? And, perhaps more horribly, what would the voice of his dad that still lives in Simon's head say? ANYWAYS THANK YOU. I have lots of thoughts about this comic but not always time/energy to write them out. :)

So late commenting!! But absolutely LOVE THIS! All the little nonverbal parts of this are perfect. The gradual increase in the smoke coming from Simon, and the switch from his text bubbles from the normal to black showing that he's going more wraith is always SO good, Soap licking his hand again!! Also that little toe-curl of Soap's when he's cumming oh my gosh SUCH a perfect touch! I love the callback to Simon reading the file on wolves again too! This is too perfect, so freaking hot, expressions on point as always, and I'll always be obsessed with the way you draw Johnny's expressions.
