Another overdue commission! Finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.... 

Anyways this was quite the challenge to work on! Checkers wanted it to be inspired by the manga covers of Galko Chan, coming up with the composition itself wasn't hard but the coloring was a whole other thing...

If you've read the manga or just seen the art of it you can tell it has a very unique look! Lots of hatching, limited colors and all the texture that traditional tools give you. The relatively flat coloring and textures are what gave me the most trouble... if I stuck too close to the source it ended up looking flat and incomplete, so I decided to keep the hatching, give it some paintover with how I usually do and keep with the general color pallette.

In the end it was worth it! I liked how it came out, wonder how it'll look once printed!
