Position Title: Head of Digital and E-Learning Quality

Reporting Line: COO

Direct Reports: none initially, few within 2-3 yrs

 

Position Summary:

 

Head of Digital and eLearning Quality serves as the primary steward of the school’s digital and e-learning ecosystem, ensuring its smooth operation, security, and continuous enhancement. This role is pivotal in driving the institution’s internal IT operations (including website, e-mail accounts, collaboration tools, etc.) as well as design, implementation, management and further development of the school’s most strategic product which is LMS and Customer Community (all-in-one) system, currently being built on  https://circle.so

digital platform. This includes everything needed to design and deliver top-tier user experience (engaging discussions, live streams, chats, courses, and payments).  By employing strategic leadership and fostering key external partnerships, the person in the role will seek to take the institution to the forefront of e-learning and community engagement innovation. In prioritizing inclusivity and accessibility, the role reflects the school's dedication to delivering a high-quality online education and collaboration for all students.

Initially it will be a hands-on role, more technical, focusing on implementation, testing and going-live on time with the product, ensuring a seamless user experience and system performance at the launch time and within the next few months after launch. Later on, the role will enhance towards its more strategic requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.

1. Formulates a long-term vision for the e-Learning system growth and enhancement, ensuring it aligns with strategic initiatives and the school's overarching goals. As well as maintaining a roadmap for evolution.

2. Delivers overall project management to ensure meeting of the strict go-live timelines.

3. Leads technical design and implementation of the LMS and all of the specific tool functions that enrich e-learning and community collaboration experience

4. Collaborates with the Vendor (https://circle.so) and its partners to address technical and support issues, functionality gaps, findings; implements improvements, and upholds best practices in system design and delivery. Maintains and fosters partnerships. Stays updated with the latest e-learning technologies, assessing potential integrations and improvements

5. Ensures optimal technical support, API integration, and system housekeeping. Develops and documents clear LMS configuration standards to streamline processes and enhance user experience

6. Implements disaster recovery and contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted e-learning and community engagement services. Responds to critical issues or failures of LMS system in a timely manner

7. Conducts systemic reviews, ensuring a consistent and rigorous process is in place to evaluate e-learning quality. Fosters an environment of continuous feedback and iterative improvement, aligning review processes with the latest in e-learning methodologies

8. Designs reports on e-learning, user experience, community engagement and other activities, integrating LMS data for insights, and keeps stakeholders such as Executive leadership, the board of governors, and other key governance structures informed of e-learning developments

9. Retrieves data, provides data analyses and prepares analytical reports. Ensures that meaningful, appropriate, and accurate data and supporting documentation is available to meet the decision-making needs of the school

10. Collaborates with the Chief of Product and Delivery to gather and analyze data on student learning outcomes and product performance metrics. Collaborates with the COO to gather and analyze data on student engagement and user experience

11. Manages training initiatives related to student onboarding

12. Serves as the point of contact for technology related questions and concerns. Ensures support is available for students

13. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

·      Knowledge of project management principles

·      Skills in organization, coordination and management

·      Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to draw conclusions and prepare accurate reports of results

·      Knowledge of internal and external customer service principles and practices

·      Skills in positive, productive and flexible customer service

·      Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technical environment

·      Ability to adapt and maintain professional composure in emergent and crisis situations

·      Result-oriented mindset; ability to set his/her own goals and determine how to accomplish results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction

Minimum Qualifications and Competences:

·      Bachelor’s degree in relevant computer science or engineering field required

·      Experience in Ed Tech preferred

·      Proficiency in Java and API integrations is essential for LMS enhancements  development

·      5-8 years of relevant work experience in online learning, project management, product management or product development required

·      Supervisory experience preferred

·      Fluent English verbal and written communication skills are must with the ability to explain technical concepts to vendors

·      Demonstrated LMS Expertise in managing, supporting, or working/teaching in LMS platforms required. OR an equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform

 

Special Conditions of Employment:

·      Some evening or weekend work hours, to be able to have calls with US-based vendor and its partners

·      Ability to work under pressure of time to deliver results

Человек должен быть увлечен образованием, быть открытым к тому, чтобы развиваться вместе с сообществом. Разумеется, предполагается хороший гонорар.
