One from the Vaults - The Forest: Father - Part 2 (Patreon)

Back to one of my oldest game ideas.
Let's talk a bit about the characters from this game.

Caleb

Our main hero, a pig.
The story starts with Caleb losing his horse and carriage while taking a leak in a road next to a forest.

All he has in his inventory is a pendant that would reveal something about his past (I don't think I ever decided exactly on what, but I'm sure it was related to his father).
Through the game the character would also collect books that would talk about the setting.

On an unrelated note, here is a different version of Caleb I did for a different thing.
I have a soft spot for piggies, so I thought it would be nice to add him, even if no one else would know where he was from.

The Gremlock

A big tall monster that dwells in caves.
To find him the character would have to get a torch.
A planned early ending was just giving up on everything and staying with him.
The design was actually something I did for The Forest story.

At the moment I thought it was a cute alternative to using an orc.

The Knight

Full of himself and with a very self important attitude.

I think I had planned an early ending where Caleb could end up as his squire.
He was also looking for some evil people.

The Druid

Protector of the forest. At some point he was more of a forest spirit.

Unlocking any paths with him would demand of Caleb to be very careful on how he behaved when it came to the trees.

The idea of the game was that pursuing certain paths would block others.

The Merchant

Not a trustworthy one.

He would be in the forest selling various items, but Caleb would have a limited amount of money, so he would have to be very careful when it came to deciding what to get.

Get the torch and check the caves? Or get a different item and become unable to venture inside such a dark place.

The Lumberjack

He is roaming around the forest. A bit cranky because there is this big tree his axe is not strong enough to chop.

Helping him would certainly make the druid angry at Caleb.

This is the first game I put serious work on.
So I actually got around to making all this art.

One day if I do a game on this kind of setting, I'll probably look into these characters to add some of them, since I like most of the designs.
