                  ~Wheel of Fortune~

{change, luck, fortune, unexpected events}

Once I was decently familiar with the workings of my new Stand and floating ghost companion D4C I decided to roll the rest of the gacha. I didn't do it immediately since I did not want to get overwhelmed. But now seems like a good time to rip off the bandaid.

[William Zeppeli's/Speedwagon's hat]

A hat belonging to William Zeppeli that was later taken by Speedwagon.

I looked at the black top hat with white diamond patterns across it in my hand. It certainly was a cool hat but... I mean... it just wasn't something I was really looking for.

[Luca's Shovel]

A shovel owned by "Leaky Eyes Luca" on which is engraved the initialism SPQR ( Senātus Populus que Rōmānus meaning "The Senate and People of Rome")

It's a shovel. It's just a shovel. I don't care if Jesus Christ himself used this shovel to dig his own grave this is still a Goddam shovel. What the hell am I supposed to do with it? Shove it up someone's ass? My stand isn't Soft and Wet you know.

In anger I had D4C throw the damn thing out of my sight before calming myself and rolling another one. I already have one of the best stands I will still be satisfied even if the Gacha shits on me.

Alright! Onto the next. Give me something good baby!

[Hamon Energy is unlocked!]

Wait that's actually incredible but I don't really feel anythi-

*Cough!*

I couldn't finish my monologue before I felt a force slam into my chest and knock out all the air in my body.

Getting the air knocked out of you is not very fun, thankfully D(D4C) caught me before I completely keeled over. I almost forgot about the Hamon prompt due to getting sucker punched before...

Holy fuck I feel good.

Like just had a good night's rest good.

I can even pick up this heavy chair!

...Okay bad joke. But seriously I felt energized and felt like I was breathing in cool but not very cold fresh spring air. My body felt energized and fresh. A feeling I seldom felt before.

But soon the feeling began to fade and I remembered why. And what hamon was.

It's a breathing technique that allows you to harness life energy and produce an energy called Hamon that can be used for a variety of things.

You need to focus on your breathing, if your breathing is unsteady or incorrect you can't produce Hamon.

So I tried that. Just focusing on my breathing and nothing else. Eventually, my breathing turned steady and even, after which I felt my body produce Hamon once more.

I kept on trying to breathe in that certain way but eventually, I slipped up and stopped producing Hamon. It seems like I will need much much more practice to get a hang of it.

That can be done later, for now, I had one last gacha to pull.

[New Stand: Catch the Rainbow]

I... I am conflicted.

Because while I drew a stand and a good stand at that which should put me over the moon. It is also straight-up useless for me in most cases?

Why? Because the stand itself only works in the rain. Not simulated rain like dropping water on yourself, only natural rainfall.

The stand itself is very strong, but the restriction is brutal. I can't use it indoors either even though it is raining. You need to be under natural rainfall to use it.

Well, let's look at the chart first before coming to any conclusions. Maybe it has some surprises for me.

[Catch the Rainbow]

[ Integrated | Close Range ]

⟨Destructice Power: [C]⟩ (While under rainfall)

⟨Speed [C]⟩

⟨Range [Irrelevant]⟩

⟨Persistance [B]⟩

⟨Prescision [D]⟩

⟨Developmental Potential [C]⟩

------⟨⟨Abilities⟩⟩------

⟨ Rain Freeze [C] ⟩

The ability to freeze raindrops in place, giving the user the ability to walk on suspended waterdrops, or use them as obstacles and weapons.

⟨Rain Travel [C]⟩

The ability to freely travel between raindrops.

⟨Rain Meld [B]⟩

The user can become intangible under rainfall by melding with the rain.

Yep. Completely busted. I can freely teleport, become intangible, block and wound people in rainfall. But only in rainfall.

You know what? I am fine with that. Yes I can only use it in the rain but that's fine with me, because when it rains it will pour.

Besides, I prefer a situationally powerful stand rather than an overall shit stand.

I am talking about Manhattan Transfer.

I would rather get Superfly that that useless piece of shit.

The only reason Dio thought Survivor was the weakest was because he didn't know about Manhattan Transfer or Cheap Trick.

Hell, I would rather roll a fistful of gravel than get Manhattan Transfer, the blind guy can have his floating pair of dangling keys I am fine.

The Emperor is the gun stand. A very strong stand, a phantom gun with infinite bullets that home in and change direction and the shots are fast enough to avoid Silver Chariot's sword.

Sex Pistols, is a side grade and a downgrade of the emperor. You don't get the gun or the bullets anymore since you gotta bring them yourself and the homing is controlled by 6 little dudes who kick the bullet around. Sure the little dudes are worse at kicking the bullets around but hey, they are still sentient stands that can fetch you things.

Manhattan Transfer, is a downgrade of the fucking downgrade. It's a fucking flying plastic bag with a keychain attached to it that can ricochet bullets. Its only unique ability is to detect wind currents.

...But why would you need that? You have eyes and ears, and if your stand isn't a plastic bag and keychain combo you can see through them most of the time.

Anyway, now that I have drawn my rolls it is time to get to planning on what I need to be doing.

First of all, my first priority should be training my Hamon. Stands are affected by breathing if I remember correctly, so in theory, my hamon should strengthen my stand.

Hamon may not be too lethal to others on its own, the average practitioner can only damage people to the extent of sunburns but you can knock people out with it. But you don't really train Hamon for offensive purposes.

You train it because it gives you superhuman physique, regeneration, magnetism-like powers, longevity and if I manage to get mine strong enough I will acquire the stand [Hermit Purple].

How does me getting Hamon related to me getting [Hermit Purple] you ask? Well, it's pretty simple.

There are several ways to acquire a stand.

1- Be born with it. Pretty simple, there is a small chance you are born with a stand as a natural stand user like Kakyoin or Polnareff who have had their stands almost their lives.

2- Survive space AIDS. If you get poked by the arrow that was carved from a space asteroid that contains an alien virus and have enough willpower to survive it you awaken your dormant stand.

3- Your relative with a supernatural connection to you survives space AIDS. In this case, you will also awaken your stand but if you don't have enough willpower you will most likely die.

4- Come into possession of one of THE [Saint's Corpse] parts. I don't need to explain why trying to do that would be problematic in Fate.

5- This is the one I am referring to, mastery.

You can manifest by becoming a master at something. This is where non-unique stands come in. For example, [Pearl Jam] of Tonio, Tonio was never stabbed with the stand arrow, never touched the corpse of the saint, he wasn't born with it and his relative wasn't stabbed either.

So how did he get a stand then?

He was just that good at cooking.

That is not a joke, he was so good at cooking that it manifested as a stand. Which is gaining a stand through mastery. Like [Anubis], it was created when a man got so good at creating swords that that talent manifested as [Anubis].

It is the same thing with [Hermit Purple] and [Ball Breaker], they are both stands that can be attained with mastery in Hamon and Spin respectively. Also, since the stand arrow brings out your latent talent as a stand it is also why all Hamon users manifest [Hermit Purple] since the arrow brings out the latent power of their Hamon as [Hermit Purple].

So in theory, If I get my skills high enough I will get free stands. Mhm, that sounds like a great plan.

Yep, my Hamon breathing is on there alright. Also, it seems like I can't use two stands at once just yet. But I am curious, since my D4C is weaker than the original how do I improve its stats? By training? Or something else?

[The stats, skills and abilities can be improved through free points.]

I see, more pay-to-play. Fine, I will play by those rules. Not like I have a choice anyway. Hopefully, it isn't too hard. How much would it cost to increase D4C's Destructive Power for example?

-------------------------------------------------------

[D4C]

⟨ Destructive Power [C] ⟩ -> ⟨ Destructive Power [B] ⟩

Cost: 1,000FP

-------------------------------------------------------

Wow.

I have no idea how much that actually is.

Hopefully, it is a manageable number. But it is no use worrying about that right now. Considering my parents are dead under mysterious circumstances I really should start my training as soon as possible for when I decide to emerge from house to face the world.

And for that, I have to have at least a good level of Hamon and at least elementary knowledge of Basic Magecraft so that I don't get exposed instantly.

All right, let's do this!

A/N: It's Hamon time! In my opinion, Hamon is actually a pretty cool power system. And it is kinda like cultivation the more I think about it.

Question: Which one would you rather have Hamon or Spin?

Comments and likes motivate me to write so do that and I may be motivated to write longer chapters more often.

I like both, but i guess i would choose spin, If you get cavalry spin, your stand can envolve, and you can breach the dimension bariers, maybe give him both, after ALL the sky ia the limit, Just hope It's not to hard to get stronger haha

Clyde

Great chapter, I wonder what sort of Magecraft he's gonna learn, but I'm beyond curious as to what his Origin is going to be. Looking forward to the next chapter!
