I could barely hide my elation at the floating translucent panel in front of me. I hadn't been thrown to the wolves. Far from it in fact.

Yep, the layout is a bit strange and it is a bit barebones but I have goddam bona fida system. I don't know what exactly it can do but that little tab called stands gives me hope.

Where did this system come from? Did some god give it to me? Is this my boon thanks to coming from another world? Did I strike a deal with god and forgot about it? I don't know.

And I don't feel like caring either.

Unless the origin of this... system becomes a problem I won't lose sleep over it. It beats the alternative of being dead with no system either way. Forget about looking the gift horse in the mouth I won't even glance at the equine.

From the pattern of being named Dio Brando and having a tab called stands in my system, I assume whatever I get will be Jojo-themed. Most likely stands.

I am more than fine with that. Jojo stands are an excellent power system. Even some of the weakest stands are very usable, discounting the one that outright kills you and the one that traps you in a Pylon.

Stands can be rather strong up there in terms of power.

But.

A lucky draw huh?

I wouldn't consider myself a particularly blessed individual in terms of luck. Lady luck does not like gracing me with her presence to put it lightly.  Sure my luck in terms of gacha games at least isn't horrible but I don't know how to feel about betting on my meager luck for what will essentially determine my near future. But how bad could it get?

Pretty bad. It could get pretty bad. I could get lucky and roll a stand like Silver Chariot or a stand around that level. But on the other hand, I can roll something like Tusk Act 1.

What would Tusk Act 1 give me? The ability to shoot my fingernails as admittedly very powerful bullets with very short range. But that isn't my problem.

I can't regrow my fingernails.

I don't feel the need to elaborate further on why that is a disadvantage.

And if the roll decides to be funny and make me roll Cheap Trick...

Well, if I manage to roll cheap Trick through out of everything possible I won't even try to argue. At that point, that's straight-up Divine Intervention telling me to go fuck myself.

*Sigh* I should keep myself grounded in terms of expectations. Hopefully, I manage to get at least one of the lower-end utility stands. Despite it being Hermit Purple, Hermit Purple is one of the better stands in terms of utility. While it may not have much combat capability its abilities would be of very great use to me. Electronics manipulation/operation and actually decently strong Divination.

The Emperor would be good too, I sure would not mind having an invisible gun with infinite ammo and homing.

And I will not even entertain the thought of getting a stand like The World or something beyond absurdity like Wonder of You to spare myself from the disappointment.

Alright, deep breath. Be calm, it isn't like this will determine your future or anything. Alright, let's roll!

I blinked a few times. My mouth was just gaping open like a fish. Did I hit my head or something? I blinked again, nope still there.

...D4C?

The D4C?

The one that allows you to travel between dimensions? The one that makes its user basically immortal? The one that can chop people in half with its strength?

Forcefully trying to calm my breath and failing spectacularly I felt the new feeling in my body. As if a new instinct had been ingrained into my body seamlessly. As if using an imaginary muscle I brought out my stand.

And emerged from my body was a humanoid form with large, upright horns that somewhat resemble the ears of a leporid; a masked mandible, and a light body lined by an almost unbroken pink seam or trim on its light blue body. It resembled the image of leather being stitched together, like on a baseball. It looked a tad slimmer and younger than I remembered.

Holy shit. Holy fuck. Holy fuck. Its D4C.

Almost in a trance, I flexed my right hand and my stand mimicked my movements. I felt the connection between us, it didn't even feel like I needed to exert control over it, it simply did what I wanted it to do. Testing it, I tried to make it grab me some water.

And it actually fucking worked. D4C floated over to the shelf near me and grabbed the water bottle from it before removing the cap and handing it over to me. Befuddled I grabbed it and took a gulp to moisten my dry throat.

Throughout that, I could somewhat feel the hands of D4C gripping the glass bottle like a phantom sensation. Cementing how real this was. This was real, not a fleeting dream.

Looking at D4C more closely I felt like I could bring up that information window again. So I did.

Yep, that's D4C alright. But something seems off about it. For starters, it's stats. I know my D4C does not feel as strong as the original but C? Really? I can feel it's far stronger than a person.

If I had to say it's about... 3 Tons(Tons as god intended but 6,000 pounds works too) in terms of lifting strength. Which is more than enough to shatter a human skull with a punch. So why is it only C? Or is this using some sort of stat measurement that actually makes sense instead of the arbitrary stats Araki gave the stands?

Still, that does not change the fact that it is indeed weaker than the original. Why? Even the ability itself seems weaker. Maybe I need to raise it myself? But how do I do that?

Ah, pay to win, so you haunt me in this world too? Ok, so how do I get said points?

[Points can be gained through achieving things or getting more experience. Defeating enemies, training, winning competitions, forging bonds, participating in activities and such. Points along with other rewards can be gained from quests/tasks/missions.]

That's great to know. The customer service of this system seems on point. I will need to find out a decent way to farm points to get D4C stronger it seems. However, I am curious about a part D4C that the system hasn't mentioned.

What about the ⟨Menger Sponge⟩ paradox of the D4C? After all, that was one of the most powerful abilities of it. Or is it counted under Dimensional Travel?

Aww shucks, I guess I can't one-shot any opponent with D4C by dragging a depowered counterpart of theirs into the universe and watch them collide into bloody fireworks. And neither does it seem I can use a duplication glitch with D4C just yet.

But patience is a virtue. And while I may not be a virtuous man I can appreciate the sentiment. Anyway, let's test what I can trully do.

I took a few hours to get acquainted with D4C properly.

Like most Close Range Power Type stands it's intelligent but not sentient. It could interpret my orders and innovate when trying to do them to an extent, and it can act even according to my intentions as well as well.

But it will not act without input, whether it be emotions, subconscious intent, direct order, direct control or otherwise.

However, there is an exception to this.

Grabbing a fork I unhesitatingly stabbed it down toward my other hand.

But before the fork could reach my hand it was forcefully stopped by D4C who grabbed it from my hands.

That's right, the basic function of basically any stand is protecting its user. Who is me. Even if I am not aware or sleeping, if something is trying to hurt me they will have to get through D4C first.

During those few hours, I got used to my new stand. At first, it felt a bit awkward to simply use the stand, but the more I used it the more natural it felt. But it would take a while for it to feel completely natural.

Also, I discovered I can take direct control of the stand. Instead of commanding it I can simply act like it's another set of limbs I have.

Very disorientating. I could see through both eyes or just my Stand's. And D4C's eyesight is seemingly much better than mine around 2x I'd say.

Also, due to my now innate understanding, I realized something.

The phrase "Only stands can hurt stands" is a tad wrong. It's only Stands that can interact with stands. A stand is usually a ghost. If you shoot a bullet at it it will just pass through it. Stands can choose what they want to interact with. If it wants to touch the ball inside a sealed box it can by phasing through the glass and choosing to interact with the ball.

A Stand can pass through anything that isn't spiritually or energy-charged.

"Only stands can hurt stands" does not make them invulnerable. Sure if you shoot at it, it can phase through it. But if it wants to stop the bullet with its body it WILL take damage because it is actually interacting with the object. Punching a strong wall will still hurt its hand.

Anyway once I was familiar enough with D4C I decided to open my next gacha, I don't want to get too many things at once and get overwhelmed.

Give me something good!

A/N: That's right, Dio starts with D4C. I decided to not go with how I usually do things which is dealing the roughest hand to the main characters instead I am experimenting with a main character who starts off at least semi-strong. The multiverse is at the tip of his fingers.

Of course, I don't plan for him to start overpowered. He will have to work his way up the ladder.

By the way, what do you guys of this new work? I see a distinct lack of likes and comments. I really do appreciate your comments they help me point out and improve on what is lacking in my works and I cannot do that without engagement. It is rather discouraging seeing so few interactions.
