Stay Hydrated (Patreon)

There's not too much time left before my next convention comes up and I've been so locked into drawing comics! I felt like I needed to unwind and draw something silly and also wanted to draw Yuka again. I had an idea for a while to do a cute bikini babe drinking water with some sort of silly messaging about staying hydrated and I guess it manifested as a faux magazine ad which was fun. I don't really know much in terms of graphic design but I've been slowly trying to get myself to pay more attention to it and use it in my work, Yuka just happened to be here at the right time to be the model for this one.

I thought the idea of her modeling for an actual publication was really cute and fits in line with her history, maybe she'd try some modeling again now that she's been building her confidence back up with Ren's support! I put the little note at the bottom of her modelling credit for the lore and to sell the idea of the magazine ad a little stronger, just a small detail that makes me happy.

I was looking at a lot of Robert O Reid's watercolor illustrations for inspiration for this one. The final picture went for a completely different rendering style but I really like the energy of his work and maybe I could try something to mimic this style in the future.
