Doodle Roundup June 4th - Gettin' Loose (Patreon)

Hey everyone! I've spent the last few weeks thinking a lot about what I felt my art was lacking (I was feeling pretty dissatisfied with my output lately) and the answer I found myself circling around was to just loosen up and draw more dumb stuff! I've always been big on trying to make funny stories and moments but I think my scribbling doesn't reflect that much and wanted to try to change that. I think just in general I want to focus more on any sort of emotional pull to the pictures I toss out so that's going to be my new goal with my art, rather than making something looks cute or pretty as the main goal.

I've been accumulating a bunch of little doodles from drawpiles and sketching (plus more in my sketchbook that will be done soon!) and have a big collection to share with you guys. A lot of these are me bringing back Ami and Frankie because they really lend themselves to stupid ideas. I've written a lot of fun comic ideas for them that I'll start drawing soon, but that's for later. I might have talked about it on here before but I've made Ami, Frankie, Yuka and Ren all be friends and there's so much potential for silly and fun interactions between them that I want to draw. The very first picture is one illustration idea for the 4 of them, and I'm aiming to do a few more and make them all nice but I'll have more to share about them later. I've also been thinking about Karate Frankie, who is a character that really only exists so I can put Frankie in my smash clone idea that I'll DEFINITELY make some day.....

There's also a few explorations of Anjo's space world and weird fruits and plants that she'd encounter but nothing is really solidified for her story yet. I've been looking through Masaaki Yuasa's sketchbook that I bought a few years ago and I've been trying to lean Anjo more into that kind of style, but there's still a lot of development to be done for her.

The last few draws are my attempts at a doublesided Ami/Frankie bookmark that i want to make, but I've been struggling to figure out something appealing for them to do. I might go with the final Frankie doing the peace sign but I drew a handful of options so i'm sharing them all.

I have a small collection of NSFW drawings to post next and I've started on the summer pics for June! Next post will be the last batch of Weekend With Yuka pages but I have a lot of things to post for this month so the pace will be a little faster than normal. Stay tuned!
