SIG 556 [ American SG 551] 500yds: Practical Accuracy | Henry's "AK5c at home"

Watch latest videos, sometimes even early releases! Sign up for the newsletter 🗞️ https://tinyurl.com/9HoleReviews or https://tinyurl.com/SlateBlack The American SIG 556 is absolutely not the Swiss SG 551, despite the SIG 556 sharing design roots from the Swiss rifles. The core of the design is the same, but the American SIG 556 has design elements that attempted to further integrate the Swiss rifle into U.S. adaption. Through it's years in the commercial market, the SIG 556 has been loved and hated for various reasons, but how well does this copied rifle perform on the distance course? We find out. This rifle sold poorly for many reasons. As you stated, it is not a Sig 551, which some buyers wanted. Other buyers were turned off because it wasn't an AR (Why won't all those cool AR accessories fit?). The rifle is nose heavy. The 556R in 7.62x39 looked like a marked improvement over the AK, but were priced very high, compared to WASR-10. I almost bought a 556R, but knew three people who had very unreliable rifles, and Sig had a hard time fixing them.

how close in reliable is it to a 550/1 I'd ask first. I wouldn't mind rock'n locks. 18! no kidding... heck I'd love a 550. pe90s cost like both arms and legs here.
