Hanners hitting Faye with a "Reverse, Draw Four"

Andrew

Narrator: “Meanwhile, in Tijuba-land…”

Mark Nach

Hanners has learned well from the gang. She can passive aggressive with the best of them. 😈

Joseph Bonnar

Two experts fencing in the last two panels. Point to Hannelore, I think.

DaddyUmbreon

Jeph you write moments between characters better than any other media I've seen. Beautiful ✨️

Sleepy John

It's like swordfighting but the swords are under the table and neither will admit holding one.

Simon Green

From a rack to wracked, this arc is a rollercoaster

J.S.

You know what this is for Hanners? Growth.

Bagge

That panel 3 pose and expression for Hannelore is super cute

Miyaa

Thank goodness this is resolved. Now we can switch to Steve eating croissants for breakfast. (Quaso!)

Yelling Bird

NOW we see what genes Hannelore inherited from her mother. Ouch!

Am Queue

And the wide eyed innocent/astonished look in the next is excellent.

Mad Marie

Just wait until each of them reveals that they are not left-handed!

Lee B.

lol I love these two so much

Shane Wegner

I imagine studying with her mom and the various people in those circles was at least as instructive on the finer points.

Daniel Rydberg

I am now imagining intense staring across a dinner table while hearing sword clashes.

Jeph, the gap between Faye's arm and body on the 3rd panel seems to have been flood filled as cream colour. It could be something like the cash register behind her, but it reads as a colouring mistake.

Leak

I suddenly need Jill Bearup to do an analysis video of that fight scene...

She says, while passive-aggressively scolding Faye in what no experts whatsoever refer to as "Touchéception"

enchantedsleeper

From wholesome to 😬 in .5 seconds xD I love Faye and Hanners

Daniel Blom Paulsen

Eh, I don't actually think Hanners has a moral leg to stand on here, savage as her clapback may be.

Mad Marie

Does “touché” count as butts disease?

Peter Jensen

It does look like where the cash register would be and is the exact same color (compare to #5028). I think the background is a standard asset, so likely the new art was dropped on top and it's just unfortunately placed to give the wrong impression. Scooching them over a little so the edge of the register is visible could maybe clear up the visual ambiguity.

Summer Sudbrink

Is this going to turn into a "Three's Company" episode where Hanners and Faye hug, and Bubbles walks in and completely misunderstand?

Further evidence that Hanners is Best Girl… -Evan exists in pajamas- but a new contender has arrived…

Russell Guldin

Hanners doesn't get enough credit for using her naivete like a dagger.

"a touch, a palpable touch"

Clifton Royston

I wish I could remember where I'd seen it, but I read a full analysis of the banter in that Princess Bride scene by a knowledgeable HEMA scholar who explained how it's all correct references to actual traditional dueling/fencing teachers and schools. What's more, they're all accurate and meaningful in the context of what's going on in the duel. The only one I remember is that Bonetti was a popular Italian fencing instructor in England who's known to have taught a kind of shuffling footwork for defense - which actually would be appropriate for retreating over rocky terrain where you'd have to be wary of tripping over something behind you.
