But will Pint Size follow Marten?

Anonymous

Why is remote work with only a handful of in person days a month not an option‽

Simon

I'm thinking one of their projects goes highly wrong and you get something like a black hole, an actively antagonistic spooky bot (Yay is our particular spooky bot)

Anonymous

Pint Size will be hired as a manager because of his creativity.

David Paul

Their advanced collective AI unit somehow have a mishap with a group studying time travel. Their prototype “Spookybot” gets sent back a year or two, giving them time to establish their presence and, since Claire had a conversation with them prior to the event, kept track of an AI named Bubbles, only to find out about her then current predicament with Corpse Witch.

Grace Kieser

They never had a pandemic in QC. Their economy never learned how to remote!

Gary Walker

Honestly, this is one of the best stories about job hunting ever. This is me looking at every startup.

I'm disabled, and have known people do remote work since the last millennium. I like how it's more popular now, but it's been an option for "the right" people for a long while now.

And that is the spark that starts the fire that engulfs all of cubetown

David Durant

More than anything this strip made me realise that with the time jump there's been plenty of opportunity for new off-screen relationships to be established. Martin / Aurelia, Martin / Sam / Jim - not to mention Claire / Sam / Veronica / Jim. I'd love to see how Claire and Sam interact.

They use paper notes in Cubetown, so probably they also have "real" books in their library. If that HR lady is any measure, they will be covered in goo after being read, so information management might include some rather decent manual work....

Yelling Bird

If I worried about being qualified to do something I'd never get anything done. I'd probably still have all my fingers though.

Bagge

dunno, it would give her a pretty concise, immediate problem to focus on

Clifton Royston

At least Claire's got a realistic picture of the possibilities.

I'm a day late here, but I must say that Aurelia's final-panel posture looks like she stepped out of Starslip (an excellent webcomic that ended in 2012, sigh).

Sleepy John

'realistic;? What is this 'realistic' you speak of? She's going for a job interview with a gelatinous cube's little sister, and you want realistic?
