We clearly grabbed some skin with that bandaid rip. Oof

Scott Vogel

This went exactly as I expected.

Anonymous

Zomg Renee!!!!!

Anonymous

I mean, not the worst way to go about it.

Anonymous

Eh the timings poor but I'm still proud of her for asking!

Anonymous

It'll either hurt, or not hurt. Either way shit's going to get sorted.

Michael Boettger

The more I think of it, Renee may be a honorary Augustus, insofar as she totally lacks chill.

Ted Van Roekel

Ah, when you want to be subtle and instead just say it all out loud. Renee, I feel your pain.

Sparky

Honesty works.

Lana Del Prey

Dan seems so well-adjusted.

Anonymous

Go Renee! Get it girl!

Shawn K. Younkin

I think Brun has been rubbing off on Renee as well... She just says what's on her mind w/o a filter, much like how Brun is.

Anonymous

this is kind of how she wound up texting him in the first place, so if this is how they wind up Really Dating (🤞!) it'll be super apropos

Anonymous

Ooohh Renee's realization face...

Anonymous

Clocks. Present. I see what you did there.

Grace Kieser

Renee has never had much of a filter, which is why she asked Elliot to take off his shirt AT WORK!

Anonymous

But... Why are they called grandfather clocks?

Anonymous

Subtle is wildly overrated. Just say it. Be direct, open, and honest.

Anonymous

Answering my own question http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2012/09/why-do-they-call-grandfather-clocks-by-that-name/

Jackie Horn

I love Brun and Shitty Dan just being bros so much

Anonymous

I love her hand in the air in that panel. Very well drawn.

KCkittysnores

If it’s meant to be, Dan will respond positively to this approach.

Yonatan Zunger

This is why I fucking love Renée.

Joseph Bonnar

What I love is that Dan gives Brun the excuse she needs in order to go out while he talks to Renee. That was CLASS! Classy Dan? :)

Matthew Reiter

Brun has to go... wash... the clock.

Erin Halfelven at BigCloset

How do you tell a grandfather clock from a grandmother clock? Just look for the pendulum.

Creepy Cat Lady

The look on Dan's face in the last panel has me so stressed out Jeph please don't break my heart here.

Anonymous

This is just like PEAK all three of them!

Darnel D Cooper

Points for that leap of faith,.... I hope she sticks the landing. I'm in the minority, (I think), but I found this refreshing. I never liked dancing around topics of this level of importance or greater - I think "Shitty Dan" wants more Renee, but wasn't sure how to get more Renee,.... Rooting for him.

Bagge

at least Brun didn't go with Grandfather Cock this time.

Bagge

There is some magic in the future for Dan, just saying

Ben Russell-Gough

No, stay there, Brun. I think that Renee and Dan will need your support during this conversation, especially as I suspect that they will be their own worst enemies!

Absentia

i really hope he says yes. i want Renee to be happy. plus. i like ℌ𝔞𝔫𝔡𝔰𝔬𝔪𝔢 𝔇𝔞𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔩.

LH

just like Aurelia, she has a thin veneer of chill over a solid core of accidentally going as hard as possible

Mark

How on earth did you do that text formatting?

Anonymous

Hopefully this goes better than the time I told my crush I liked them. Walking back to our cars after a school trip I might have just blurted it out. Never got a response, though that's probably because I ran away.

Yelling Bird

YEAH! GET IN THERE AND GET SOME MORE OF THAT SHITTY DAN DICK!

Will Weaver

Same, Brun, same.

Maurice Kessler

Dang, that last panel sure takes me back.

Aaron Schulz

Good for you rene, take dick by the horns.

Matt

That face in the last panel? My brain far too often.

BobC

My theory is the knees give way to make it easier to pound on the tabletop. Yup.

OldGoat

It took quite a while, but Renee has finally become likable.

Tim Keating

What? She's ALWAYS been likeable!

Kevin Hicks

Wait...WHY are they called "grandfather clocks" now?

jimbo

Renee has the best body language. Every word translates into choreography!

Nicolas Demers

Funny thing, there _is_ such a thing as a grandmother clock! They're similar to, but a bit smaller than, grandfather clocks

Lucanid Landman

They used to be called longcase clocks, but then in 1876, a songwriter called Henry Clay Work wrote a song about them called "My Grandfather's Clock" and it became extremely popular. Everyone started calling them Grandfather Clocks after that as a reference to the song.
