Tabitha Hairpiece?

Anonymous

You poked Daddy AI successfully, Roko. Take the damn win.

Michael Boettger

I knew Roko and Yay would show up soon. And Yay for Yay! And kudos to Melon.

Anonymous

May is a regular Rosa Parts.

Devin Gates

Now we need a Tabitha Carapace children's book!

Devin Gates

Wow, Melon's the only one close to winning!

Anonymous

I love how Yay's pieces are neatly stacked while Melon's are just a mess on the table. Why are there two yellow/brown spaces in the board?

Fart Captor

Melon is excellent at naming things

Anonymous

I love the subtle implications of the body seams. Roko's expensive chassis has very few compared to Melon, and Yay has none at all.

Joseph Bonnar

We NEED a strip about Tabitha Carapace now.

Joel Bateman

Anyone else had a feeling Yay was gonna pitch in? They do seem like the type to do that, mostly to help their friend, Roko.

jimbo

so, what gender is Yay Newfriend aka spookybot? They're initial appearance in suit/ tie I thought effeminate male, then while friending Roko more ambiguously female.. I'm at a loss.

Matt Grayson

The whole cast makes me happy!

Anonymous

Now tops my list of future Patreon strips I want to see.

Anonymous

Poor Roko, she's way too hard on herself. ☹️ I empathise... And well done Yay for making sure Roko understands what she's achieved.

Solomon Garland

I like how Yay started out going by Spookybot and wearing suits and now they just show up in, apparently, boxer shorts and a big t-shirt, to play board games on Roko's couch.

Anonymous

Twist: melon is incredibly wealthy, 90% of the money came from her

Anonymous

Is that pronounce Cah-a-PACH-ee?

Denizen Blue

I feel like what Yay considers a "modest" contribution might be a bit startling for May.

Anonymous

Nope. You have to follow the sandhi rules. The r is only elided when no open vowel follows it. So, cah, cahs, ceah (care), carapace.

Yonatan Zunger

Roko, you triggered a major but likely slow-moving institutional reform, with Hanners cat-herding it to keep it functional, and got together a fund-raising drive that's going to take care of May, not institutionally but by embedding her more deeply in her own community, one which clearly cares about her. Your goal wasn't to solve the problem some particular way, it was to solve the problem. And you made massive progress on both the short- and long-term aspects of it in a single day. You are seriously good at your new job.

Captain Button

But somehow, someday, it leads to Hannelore ordering the release of The Virus.

Simon Green

How do two AIs play Connect Four anyway? Wouldn't the first player to move put their piece down, they both stare at the rack for a moment, and then declare a winner? Or is "human level cognition only" one of the rules, like playing Counter Strike with knives?

Michael Boettger

That was before all this transpired. The release is in an alternate universe.

Michael Boettger

It just occurred to me that QC is in an alternate universe. Hanners will release it in ours.

Summer Sudbrink

I wonder if you could make dual-layer connect 4.

Anonymous

Regardless of how AIs normally play it, I feel like a game with Melon would have its own special rules.

Bagge

Melon is the gift that just keep giving

BobC

What was Melon smellin'?

Anonymous

It scares me a bit that the first thing I thought when I read this is: will, or did?

Populuxe

Really liking the growth in Yay as a character. They are so much more interesting now than when they were the seemingly all-powerful Spookybot.

Jonathan

Has Yay informed Melon that Connect Four is a "solved game", meaning they can always win if they go first?

Mark

Roko seems to have become used to arriving home and finding Yay and Melon there, as opposed to resenting it the previous time https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=4108 . She might even find it comforting now.

Anonymous

Called it. Melon totally donated half of May's new body fund lol

Anonymous

Melon has a win in 6 or 9 moves, depending on whose turn it is https://connect4.gamesolver.org/en/?pos=121242257747677553 https://connect4.gamesolver.org/en/?pos=213456277122547577

David Pipes

You need to write a children's book about Tabitha Carapace's Big Day Out, Jeph.

Anonymous

Skimming back through the archives, Yay has had a neck-seam; same as Roku. Methinks its absence was a goof.

Erin Moriarty

Tabby should be the next yelling bird.

Yonatan Zunger

I would be totally down for stories about Tabitha Carapace. That's one of those names that pretty much requires a story.

Tim Keating

Wait... is the beetle still there?

Ardent Slacker

Well, they still... are the all-powerful Spookybot. Just, yanno, learning to have a little chill.
