MNL Progress Report #59 (Patreon)

Hey there, nudies! I lost power for a good bit today, so sorry if I'm a bit late!

Okay so! AMBER'S! NEW MODEL RERIGGING! IS FINALLY...

85% COMPLETE

It's close! But it's not quite there yet! It has taken a lot longer than expected, but it's also a lot more complicated than her previous model and allows us to do a great deal more with her. It'll give us a lot more options when animating her, even down to smaller details. Like this!

Thanks to this new rigging system, Amber's flip-flops can now flip-flop! We can even wiggle her ears if we want! And that of course applies to other body parts as well, but you'll have to see all that later.

In the meantime, Invertex has been working on getting the house model completely functioning in-game with all of its doors and rooms, and Sweez and I have been working on creating UI elements. Including the cute chibi Ambers in the above post! We thought it'd be cute if we had a chibi Amber thinking about her current mission objective whenever you pause the game. We're not quite sure yet how much of her body will appear on-screen, but just in case, Sweez gave us a full body version and even an alt expression! Check out all these other UI elements, too!

We're also currently working on an equipment screen so you can dress up Amber in basically everything but actual clothes! Hats, bracelets, anklets, shoes, stuff like that. And of course you'll need an Amber on-screen to "dress" up, so check out our WIP sketch!

Once we finish up with reimporting Amber and her new model/rig, Invertex and I will get to work on building the UI and get started on rebuilding our cutscenes. My script format changes are almost done, though I want to rework a later scene to allow for more player choices within a conversation. I've got something real fun in mind!

Amber's rigging SHOULD BE DONE THIS WEEK, barring any other catastrophes. And THEN we will have her moving around in-game again and showing off things that aren't art. Thank you all so much for your patience!
