When I first met Indy (my girlfriend Bree's rescue dog), she was a serious flight risk. She loved to bolt off anytime she saw something interesting in the distance, and Bree was rightfully afraid to ever let her off leash! Over the years, she has learned how to resist those impulses and now we are able to walk her off-leash with confidence. How many of you have taught your dogs to be reliable off leash?

I wish. I have one of those red tick coon hounds...there are far to many things for him to chase. I don't believe training would over ride his natural born drive to hunt. That being said I'd love to have better recall skills for him. Or to be able yo do the off leash dog parks.

I would love it if I could trust Libby, Libby even knows when someone does not lock the screen door. She could be upstairs sound asleep on my bed and if she hears someone come in the front door or even suspects that the front door is open and the screen door might be available, she will dash down the steps and just hit the door with her paw as to see if it will open. If it is not locked, she will dart across the street and run all around the neighbor's yard. She looks at you as to say, Gotcha!!! such a smarty pants. I am still working on her. Yikes, I don't think it will ever sink in!!!!!
